Guest guest
Thanks for that advice. That will save me waiting for them to find out while they called down to the lab. I really suspect the way the labs look that I got that those 4 were not run or at least weren't in this batch that he reviewed. Thanks again, Terry > >Reply-To: >To: >Subject: Re: Received results from Dr. Cohen >Date: Thu, 22 May 2003 20:21:22 -0700 > >Terry, > >If you had the tests run at CCF, then I would call the lab there to >determine first off if they were run. Guest guest
Terry I've not had such an experience, but that is not to say that it couldn't happen. It is a very big place, that I am sure mistakes are made sometimes. Keep us posted. laurie > > Reply-To: > Date: Fri, 23 May 2003 00:59:26 +0000 > To: > Subject: Received results from Dr. Cohen > > Hi, > I received the lab results today for my daughter's mito eval. Guest guest
Terry, If you had the tests run at CCF, then I would call the lab there to determine first off if they were run. If they were run, ask if the results were sent to Dr. Cohen and ask them to resend them. I would check with the lab first before contacting Dr. Cohen's office. If they were run, then I would contact one of his nurses and ask them about it. The nurses are a better source than the secretaries are. Good luck, T M wrote: >Hi, >I received the lab results today for my daughter's mito eval. I am a bit >puzzled though. We saw Dr. Cohen at CC. Guest guest
Hi, Not sure what happened with the labs. I did hear from Dr. Cohen. Though I don't have the results I mentioned, he must have had them because he referred to the CoQ10 levels as being indicative of oxidative stress. He was quite nice and I must say I am very pleased with the outcome of our visit with him. He gave us a good direction to go for her treatment here locally. He is truly a rare doctor to find. Thanks to all here also for your help. Guest guest
Terry, So does your daughter have a CoQ10 level that was low? Did she have any other abnormal lab result. Does he want to do a muscle biopsy on your daughter? I think I had seen a post where it was described as a aquired mitochondrial…was that from all the other treatment she was on? Sorry for so many questions, trying to figure it out in relationship to what we are walking through. Thanks for taking the time. Guest guest
I don't know if this means anything or not, but I had very low COQ10 levels before I started taking CoQ10 and had my muscle biopsy at CCF. I ended up having a functional complex I & II defect. The membrains of my mitochondria are very leaky. Don't ask me why or what that means, because as of 1999 when I had my bx, they had never seen it before. I don't know if they have seen it since either.
