Guest guest
I did this a couple of years ago. I felt like a unibomber with the big vest I had to wear! I never noticed the camera exit, but it apparently did. Good luckelefonts wrote: Let me introduce myself, after lurking for a while. Celiac DX and GF since October 2005. For 3 years my former gastro MD said I didn't have Celiac. Guess who's not disappointed he retired?I've had two colonoscopies and two endoscopies. I'm managing with the GF diet. Today was probably the highlight of my "golly gee wilickers" look at modern technology. At 9 a.m. I swallowed a camera. It took pix of my intestines for 8 hours. They'll call tomorrow with the results. (Hopefully the camera will have exited my body by then.Has anyone had this test before? I'm still waiting for the camera to leave me. bj in RI Yahoo! Guest guest
Hi BJ! Waving at you from Cumberland. BTW, my son wants to go back to Smokey Bones. He asks for it every day now. I guess he thinks they ALWAYS play " Sponge Bob " on the TVs. :-) Esther > > Let me introduce myself, after lurking for a while.
Guest guest
Hi all. I don't think the camera pill has left my possesion yet. How would I know? The " uni-bomber " description is exactly how I felt. Didn't help any that I had a raincoat on. I went to the hospital to visit my brother-in-law. Everyone was stepping aside as I walked down the aisle. I was supposed to stop at the bank - I thought " nope - wouldn't be a wise move " . I haven't heard from the doctor's office yet either. Perhaps they are still laughing at my 8 x 10 glossies. Esther, have your son call me. I'll take him to Smokey Bones anytime. " ) My family is starting to revolt when I mention the place. ciao for now bj in RI
Guest guest
Well I swallowed the camera pill on March 8th. Definitely hard to "say cheese" for those pix. Certainly an interesting procedure....and I've been on the butt end of every joke.....please try to refrain yourself Esther. ") Bottom line (no pun intended) definitely Celiac. I've been gluten-free since October. Lost weight, gained weight, lost weight, gaining weight. Being married to an Italian is not easy for a celiac. Tho' he has always said "you know me, I eat everything", he has found that not to be true. I'm already dealing quite well with my first "diet". Sorry, but I have ALWAYS been one of those who "can eat ANYTHING" and not gain weight. So the premise of any kind of diet is more daunting to me than the food itself. It was quite surprising how much pasta, bread, pizza I ate. GF pasta is actually okay. One of these days I'm going to feed it to my husband without telling him. It would be nice not to have to boil two pots of water on Prince Spaghtetti Day. I've resigned myself to never ever again having a "sandwich" because GF bread is VILE and EVIL and no way to LIVE. I have come up with one way to handle cookies and other "pastry". I only eat GF cookies that I didn't eat before Dx....like snickerdoodles. Never had them before in. So I bought GF Enjoy Life snickerdoodles. They taste great to me cuz I never had them before. My husbands favorite cookie is Pecan Sandies. Never had them. I eat Pamela's Pecan Shortbread cookies. Love 'em. I started by buying GF replacements for things I loved before - all the breads and muffins that had apple, cinnamon, raisins that I loved. Naturally I was comparing the GF replacements to what I craved before. I've now decided 1/2 the battle is NOT to buy replacements but buy foods you didn't eat before. Then you are not disappointed in the taste. I've rambled on enough. ciao for now bj in RI
Guest guest
What is this " Food by " company? Do you find them online or at a health food store? Just curious, I haven't heard of them before. > Foods By blueberry muffins are quite acceptable, especially > toasted and spread with soft butter. Guest guest
If you live in northern New Jersey you can purchase from thier processing facility in Mahwah, but call Celia to make sure they have it in stock. The plant smells like cinnamon. Whole foods and some health stores carry thier product but at a greatly inflated price. Thier food is great.... On the plus side, you can go into the bank now. You no longer look like a terrorist with your raincoat and big vest. :-) We'll have to meet up at S.B. one of these days. We'll put SpongeBob on all the TVs and order potato planks and Sierra Chicken together. Hugs! Esther, up North
Guest guest
I've found them at Whole Foods in Bedford, MA and at my local Hannifords grocery store in Londonderry, NH.
