Guest guest
It isn't a good idea to go without your antidepressant more than 48 hours. You can get a serotonin withdrawal syndrome that is very unpleasant. Can be extremely uncomfortable. ----- Original Message ----- . Guest guest
Hi, I've been tried on all the SSRI's, but I haven't ever experienced nausea. If I did, I guess I would start with a VERY low dose and proceed very slowly from there. Also throw in all that pregnancy advice like eating saltines, etc. I do know that switching around with SSRI's the way you've had to do is THE PITS! ....so I hope you can settle in on one and stay there. My med is EFFEXOR, but I've had to stay at a low dose of 75 mgs because it has raised my weight (from 115 to 125 lbs) and my blood pressure - more mgs. also means more Restless Legs Syndrome @ bedtime and even during the day. No thanks! colette, s. fl

Guest guest
I'm glad the Klonopin works for you. I took one a friend of mine has for her bipolar when I was so manic one night i was yanking out my own hair.. and I was drugged for 48 hrs afterwards.. and all I took was 1 mg.. lol Be careful about taking medications that you get from others. They can interact with your own medications and really cause problems. I take Klonopin as well as Trofranil at bedtime. Guest guest
Hi I haven't posted for a while -- in a big flare up plus deadlines and general chaos. Does anyone have any experience with an anti-depressant that does NOT cause nausea? I have a terrible reaction to most SSRI medications and I need something for depression. I've finally got the pain under control, but not the depression, and still have spikes of anxiety too. Vimala

I take Remeron and don't have any nausea with it. I tried to switch to Prozac, but because of side effects which included nausea, I went back to the Remeron. It also helps a lot with my anxiety. I switched because I had to go off the Remeron to see if it was causing my high blood pressure. It wasn't so I had the choice whether to go back or try something else. Because Remeron sometimes makes me have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, I thought I'd try switching. I much prefer the Remeron. Other side effects for me were that it slightly increased my constipation from IBS and the sleepiness at night. I need the sleepiness so that's not a problem for me. I do take SSRI med and so no help there, but I love my Klonopin. My shrink also gave me Deseryl for breakthru anxiety and to help me sleep; I'm not sure what kind of anti-d that one is, but in any case it's not very strong. I think Klonopin helps me with depression a little, too. I take Xanax, which I think is supposed to calm you down, but it revs me up -- I made the mistake of taking two one day and I was bouncing off the walls at work. Dunno if you haven't already tried all these, but here's hoping you find something that works. *hugs* Em ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It is the tale, not he who tells it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I'm glad the klonopin works for you.. At least that way it's not disolving in your stomach. I take Remeron, but I don't have the mouth dissolving kind. I take a tablet which has given me no stomach problems. I always think the " citrus flavored " stuff doesn't taste nearly as good as it's suppose to. Darcy
