Guest guest
I've used the Progresso Creamy mushroom in the crockpot and had no problems. If you think it looks to thin when almost done.. you can puree a small can of mushrooms to add to it, or add some powdered milk, instant mashed potatoes, or cornstarch mixed with a little hot water. :-) in VA sub for campbell's "golden mushroom" soup >> > We've switched to Progresso Creamy Mushroom soup in place of Cream of > Mushroom for recipes.> > > Does this soup work well in crock pot recipes? Guest guest
I have a recipe that calls for Golden Mushroom soup. I didn't have it one time and I used regular Cream of Mushroom soup. The recipe came out fine without it. I think at the time I used a touch more Kitchen Bouquet to make the color right. Of course now I'll use Gravy Master. I converted it to a crock pot recipe and always had to thicken it with cornstarch. Guess I'll use a bit more the next time I make it. I'm assuming that s Golden Mushroom is NOT gf? kathi --- esther_p210 wrote: --------------------------------- > > > We've switched to Progresso Creamy Mushroom soup in place of Cream of > Mushroom for recipes. > > > Does this soup work well in crock pot recipes? Guest guest
It's really funny that some grocery stores will have tons of Progresso cans, but no mushroom!! I have found them at Kroger! Ask if you can't find it at one of the BIG stores. kathi --- RICHARD WHITLEY wrote: > I've looked and looked for Progresso Creamy Mushroom soup all > over San Diego and still cannot find it. Guest guest
I'm in VA and I've bought it at Food Lion (but they always seem to be out of it) also I think Giant, and Super Walmart. :-) Re: sub for campbell's "golden mushroom" soup I've looked and looked for Progresso Creamy Mushroom soup all over San Diego and still cannot find it. Guest guest
I can't find it here anywhere either. I keep forgetting to ask our grocery store if they can order some in. I would buy a whole case just to be sure I always have some. > > > > > > We've switched to Progresso Creamy Mushroom soup in place of Cream of > > Mushroom for recipes. > > > > > > > > > Does this soup work well in crock pot recipes? Guest guest
You can go to the progresso website and e-mail them. I gave them my zip code and they gave me a list of every store that carried the creamy mushroom soup. Hope this helps. --- Rhiannon wrote: > I can't find it here anywhere either.
