Guest guest
Hello Everyone. I need some help. I've had severe Crohn's for 14 years, 1 bowel resection. I've used everything up to and including Remicade and Humira(both of which caused severe reactions). Currently on no meds. I've done the intro diet for 5 days. I feel horrible, my D is worse, horrific nausea, Some vomiting.I'm assuming(hoping) that this is just die off. How long is the die off supposed to last? I tried the yogurt for the first 2 days, in small amounts. I thought thats what was making me feel worse so I stopped eating it. I'm egg-intolerant, fruit(even cooked) makes my D worse. So that leaves me homemade jello, chicken soup(which I'm over), broiled burgers or fish(not the biggest fan), cooked carrots. Should I continue with the intro diet? The book is exceptionally vague, it seems that there is a 2-9 day window between the intro and the time you can introduce new things, am I supposed to fast during those days? How much longer should I go on eating basically meat? This can't be healthy! Is the intro diet supposed to clear my D? Because it most definitely did not. I would really love something new to eat, and feeling like a human being again would be spectacular. Thanks,

But unfortunately, there's no rule. It's individual. Mostly it's over quickly - a few days or less, for some it lasts longer. A week to 10 days. It depends on the bacteria/ fungus/mold you are killing off. Which means you are already having results - just not the ones you thought you would be having. If you think of it as your body getting rid of toxins that were committing malfeasance in your body - and that you will feel much better when you are rid of them, it helps get through it, though the nausea and the vomiting sound miserable. But those are those little buggers making you as miserable as possible so you'll revert to eating the things that fed them. > I tried the yogurt for the first 2 days, in small amounts. But if you are sick of it, try beef bone soup. for variety. > Should I continue with the intro diet? Keep eating soup and begin to add in well cooked, (and seeded, peeled when necessary) vegetables like pureed spinach, zucchini. Do you know whether you are intolerant to the white or yolk of the egg? Or to both? Apparently, most people are intolerant of the white - so are able to eat the yolk. > How much longer should I go on eating basically meat? This > can't be healthy! Well, begin to add in veggies very slowly. Here's a chart to help you - it's just a guide, not a rule, so you can change things to suit your body: Scroll down the page: http://www.pecanbread.com/new/scdfoods1.html > > > Is the intro diet supposed to clear my D? Not if you are experiencing intense die-off, which can cause D. It's only supposed to begin to clear your system out - which it seems to be doing very well. > Because it most definitely > did not. Guest guest
Hi , Hang in there. I'm sure some of the people who have been around for a while will give you useful suggestions and encouragement. All I can say is that the first three weeks on the diet were horrible for me. I could hardly leave the bathroom. My D which was already bad enough became worse. I began having food reactions to foods I used to tolerate just fine. Then, I noticed differences. And improvements. Now my D is completely gone. Completely. I still have some urgency with bowel movements but nothing compared to the hell I went through before. In the last month I started teaching seminars again which I haven't been able to do because I couldn't stay out of the bathroom long enough to say anything useful. Last week I taught a seminar and talked to attendees afterward for a couple of hours. And I did fine. For me, this is a miracle. Just in the last month, I've even been able to add in eggs. Yeah! Not a lot, but a couple of times a week. And all of this since August 12! All the Best of you, Hannah At 04:28 AM 1/12/2009, you wrote: >Hello Everyone. >I need some help. >I
