Guest guest
My understanding is that these are indeed GF, though he could be reacting to the cheese / grease. -----Original Message-----From: SillyYaks [mailto:SillyYaks ]On Behalf Of adzeckSent: Sunday, March 19, 2006 7:19 PMTo: SillyYaks Subject: TGI Friday's frozen potato skinsDoes anyone know if these are GF? My stepdad bought them from the grocery store and read the label and gave them to my son today. My son is really sick now, but it could be the flu. He seems to catch everything and keep it longer than the other kids. Thanks in advance!ChrissyToledo, OH(Son, age 7, dx 4/05)
Guest guest
That is funny that these were brought up. A couple of weeks ago we were all talking about Friday's. Someone mentioned that the skins were dusted with flour for crunchiness or something. We were just there last night. I asked a lot of questions about them and at the one here they told me that they are made very close to where the flour is so sometimes it gets on them, but they do not use it on them. I asked them to be very careful not to get any on ours, and YEA!! I didn't get sick. Guest guest
Melonie pointed out that there is often a difference between the restaurant product and the mass marketed product sold in the grocery store... But if I remember correctly, people came to the conclusion that the grocery store product was gluten free. > > That is funny that these were brought up. Guest guest
Have you asked how they cook them in the resturant? I know they used to be (10+ years ago) deep fried with the rest of their fried foods. I loved the skins before cd. If they are indeed cooked " gf " --I'm be on my way to TGIF this week! --- seamaiden399 wrote: > Melonie pointed out that there is often a difference > between the > restaurant product and the mass marketed product > sold in the grocery > store... Guest guest
They baked them in a convenction oven. I did ask if they fried them or what. I don't know what they usually do and it could differ from restaurant to restaurant, but I didn't have problems. > > > > > > That is funny that these were brought up.
