I'm back...lab results

I'm home from Breckenridge. We had a great time, went swimming, played in

the arcade, walked around town and shopped, then went and toured an old gold

mine and got to pan for gold. It was a fun time. :o)

I also got my labs back and nothing points to the reason why I've been

spontaneously bruising except for the fact that I've been on prednisone for

over a year. The other downer side is my creatinine was at 2.4 again and my

protein spill was still near 1g so of course they didn't want to drop my

prednisone dose due to that. My neph wants me to make an appointment with

my GP for a checkup and possible further testing. I need to go in for my

annual anyhow so it's good timing....if there is such a thing as good timing

for spontaneous bruising.

At least the weekend in the mountains gave me time to relax...though we did

end up in the ER last night with my nephew having a severe asthma attack due

to the altitude. He came back with an oxygen tank and is doing 100% better

for it.

Hi Amy,

I am so glad you were able to get away and relax in beautiful Breckenridge,

well, except for the visit to the ER for your Nephew that is. My niece was

hospitalized over the weekend for three days for a bad flu, so I know how

stressful that can be.

Let us know what the Primary Physician says about the bruising. Could it be

you have become anemic? I am sure they tested your hematocrit.

I am saddened though that your creatinine is up to 2.4. I wanted so much for

you to have results like Rita's. I know it is disappointing to not have the

Prednisone tapered down too.

Sorry for your disappointment.

Oh Amy...

I'm sorry to hear about yr numbers - and the bruising. For some people the

bruising can be pretty dreadful. I know when my mum was on pred if you so

much as breathed on her she got awful bruises. Her arms and legs looked

liked she's been in one heck of a car wreck.

Glad to hear your nephew's better. What a scare that must have been!

Hi Amy, sorry to hear your creatinine was still at 2.4 with proteinuria at 1

gram. When will you see the neph again? How's your B/P with the prednisone?

I'm truely glad that you got to take a break and relaxed in Breckenridge.

Sounds so beautiful. I'm certainly not enjoying our cold weather, was it even

colder in Breckenridge? Hope you got to take some great pictures. Praying your

little nephew is doing better now. Asthma in kids can be very scarey.

By the way, did you hear that terribly sad story about someone stealing several

vials of flu vaccine from the pediatricians office? Isn't that just

unbelievable?!

Hope you are doing a little better. I'm so sorry about your disappointing news,

sometimes it's just " the pits " waiting for good results, and then finding out

that (that) just isn't the way it's gonna be that day. We can only hope for a

better, brighter day, which usually will come right around the corner. Take

good care and hope your hanging in there. Bonnie
