Guest guest
Make sure you read the book. And be sure to you have the updated food list with skim milk and fat free plain yogurt on it. You can eat anything you want for breakfast, the yogurt, leftovers from dinner, homemade soups. You do not have to have " breakfast " foods for breakfast. Carol Help for a newbie! I've been pondering over this diet for like 3 months. But nothing has really motivated me to go full force with it. Until, last night I had a friend say something like " don't be worried about your weight, you STILL look good " ... So, what I'm going to do first is go to the store and get items that are on the Phase 1 food list and see how I do. My biggest problem is that I hate eggs!!! So I'm not sure how I'll do breakfast. If anyone has some advice I'd love it. I " ve been going to the links on this group and have found helpful info. Plus I love the SBD Freezer Meals. So yea, I need a ton of advice.... hope everyone is having a good week, Jen Please send your recipes for inclusion in the Files to the Moderator at: South-Beach-Diet-Getting-It-Right-owner Reminder: The South Beach Diet is not low-carb. Guest guest
You make no mention of reading the book. That is your very first step - read it a couple of times. Second - most of us " old dogs " will tell you to run the other way from any of the pre-packaged " SBD approved " meals/bars. These items came out well after the SBD was established and most of us contend that the pre-packaged foods are nothing more than a money maker for the author of the plan -- a sell out to Kraft. Guest guest
Carol is right - your " foods to enjoy " list is your friend. You can have anything on there for any meal - doesn't matter what time of day it is. I happen to like eggs but don't like fish - so I eat what I like and leave what I don't like out of my meals. Guest guest
Hey, thanks all for your replies! I actually have read the book several times. I find most of the links here, however, more understandable for me. But I did use the books " foods to enjoy " list as I went to the store tonight. Good first day so far. Thanks, Jen > > Carol is right - your " foods to enjoy " list is your friend. You have to make the commitment to do the Beach the way it's supposed to be done in order for it to work. If you go in half-a**ed, you will have a very hard time and probably won't lose any weight. Then you will blame the diet and quit. > So, what I'm going to do first is go to the store and get items that > are on the Phase 1 food list and see how I do. Read the book and learn why Phase 1 is so important. Then purge your kitchen and house of all non-SBD Phase 1 foods so that you aren't tempted to stray. It's so much easier this way. When you want a snack, anything you grab will then be fine for you. > My biggest problem is that I hate eggs!!! So I'm not sure how I'll do > breakfast. This is easy. Eat anything you like from the Foods to Enjoy list. Who said breakfast had to be eggs all the time? Sometimes chili for breakfast really hits the spot! > If anyone has some advice I'd love it. Check the labels and ingredients to be certain that they are SBD compliant. > hope everyone is having a good week, > Jen So far!!
