Guest guest
I didn't wear a bra for 2 weeks after surgery. It worried me that it would hurt, and I wasn't going out anywhere, so it really wasn't a big deal. -- Silly question I have a silly question to the women of the group who have had open rny. I was wondering how do you go about putting on a bra in the weeks after your surgery? I unfortunately am well endowed in that area, and I can not go without a bra. It occured to me the other day that the way I put mine on, it would interfere with my scar. Is it painful to wear one? I would appreciate any suggestions or help in this area. Thank you for your replies in advance. Guest guest
You may want to purchase a few all cotton bras before surgery. Underwire was definitely uncomfortable, but I had no problem with all cotton.

Guest guest
Thanks, that's a good idea. I will just have to feel saggy for a few weeks. I am just so used to underwire. Guest guest
I always put mine on in the front and then just spun it around and shoved my arms in. I held it away from my incision until it healed. it was not a big problem. You may need to tuck the bra up higher in the front, the elastic that goes around, like fold it under, so it does not rub at first but after you heal it will be back to normal. I am well endowed there too so I know the feeling of needing the bra God Bless, Robin, NorthEastern, NY EDD- July 27th, 2004 IT'S A BOY!!!!!! Guest guest
Hi Noelle Not a silly question. I am not an expert, but I believe that there are many types of blood-clotting issues one can have. The tendency to clot is also called " thrombophilia. " But again, there are many types of them. You can be tested for particular ones, and if they find one they may want to put you on blood-thinning medication in a pregnancy-- which I understand is a safe practice. Who told you about this blood- clotting? Jen, 36 SU with a " dip " resected 11-15-04 > > i have blood that clots during my pregrancies and i was wonder the > name of that blood discorder. Guest guest
Hi Noelle, I just found out that I have the same problem during my mc in december. New RE also suspects it caused my first loss. As already stated there are many conditions that cause bleeding. I can't remember what she called mine either. lol! When the RE mentioned I'd need to be on heparin during the next pg & she also said I should be on baby asprin (or 81mg) while ttc, I started researching. There's a Yahoo Heparin support group & they have great info. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/heparin/ Some women are treated for this by the RE & Perinatalogist but I've also seen where they go to a hematalogist (blood specialist) too. I guess it all depends on your doc's experience. Good luck & I hope this helps, W, 38, waiting to ttc again My Angels, 3-22-03 & SweetPea 12-24-04 > > i have blood that clots during my pregrancies and i was wonder the > name of that blood discorder. Guest guest
Angie, yahoo, the big day has arrived!!!! Well, the prep day, right? Procedure is tomorrow?? By all means, chug the coffee, but then start on water. Experts say (forgive me for using the “expert” word) that when you’re feeling thirsty, you’re already partially dehydrated. Pure water will hydrate you. Most of the other things we love, including coffee, are diuretic and will take the fluids right out of you. I don’t know about gum, but I don’t think I’d want my digestive juices flowing when I can eat. Check in afterward with all the gory details please. (Maybe you’ll put “parental discretion advised in the title…) Laurie lbilyeu@... Thanks Angie
