Guest guest
Hello, just a short note to introduce myself. I am Caren, 39, married, no children, living in Kansas and none of my relatives are in this country. I was just diagnosed with breast cancer after having a needle biopsy done on Tuesday. As I am certain you all know it has been a very emotional time between finding the lump myself and being diagnosed. I miss my family in Germany so bad right now, they are all too old to travel, and my in-laws live in upstate New York, so my husband and I have been facing this alone so far. Add to that the fact that we are retired military and have to deal with their insurance system and one tends to feel helpless. Do not get me wrong, we are blessed to have insurance but their idea of fast treatment and mine do not agree. I am so concerned for my husband that I am afraid the reality has not sunk in for me. I am so glad to know I am not alone in this and would like to thank you for this group and maybe there is even a chance I can meet a local survivor to help guide me/us through what lies ahead. I have always been in conrtol of my life and to suddenly surrender and to live day by day is unknown to me. I am getting ready to hopefully get approval for surgery and lumpremoval soon, so the cancer can the tested and staged so we can figure out what we are dealing with. I have always been one to believe that you are never handed more than you can handle, but in this case I need help! Thank you for reading this and maybe someone can share, write, communicate or just be there for me.... Bless you!
