Guest guest
- What is Grill Seasoning blend? Since we don't have Trader Joes here (maybe I should put it on my wish list from CA?). Want to try the broccoli. Wouldn't that be good with the hamburgers with BUNS??? kathi --- seamaiden399 wrote: --------------------------------- Tonight DH and I had a lovely meal of baby red potatoes, decoratively sliced open and dribbled with butter and then topped with bread crumbs (Seattle Sourdough) and smoked mozarella, our favorite southern fried tofu recipe, and green beans sauteed with sherry and crushed fresh garlic. Guest guest
You can use any " grill seasoning " blend that you like... I happen to like a lot of trader joe's mixed spices, including the grill one. You could ask your sister/ friend to pick up all the mixed spices for you- they're pretty cheap. Actually, I took a bunch of them to Japan when I went there this summer for two months and they were a lifesaver. (You wouldn't believe how spendy spices are in Japan- and the selection is severely limited, as they are not frequently/ extensively used in traditional Japanese cuisine.) I agree that sounds like a winning combination. You guys are completely inspiring me to make those darned buns!!! But yesterday I made white featherlight in the bread machine, and tonight I gotta make french bread for our party... ah, life is hard. That broccoli is WONDERFUL! I've been playing with the spiciness and add almost no chili powder/ chipotle chili 'cause DH is not so into the heat, but it is sooo flavorful. The other day I ate an entire broccoli head all by myself it was so good. I felt like such a freak, but the recipe is a winner! Love that roasted garlic. >
Guest guest
I'll ask my sister to get me some!! She's coming in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, it's a pepper like blend? I use Penzys exclusively since I discovered a store here and ALL but a couple of things are gf!! I can season with abandon.... : ) Maybe I have something similar...although not named a grill blend. Anyway, I have some broccoli in the fridge that needs to be eaten. AFTER we eat all the 99cents a pound asparagus!! When it's on sale like that I buy lots and make the family OD on it! : ) Get our fill of it for awhile! k --- seamaiden399 wrote: --------------------------------- You can use any " grill seasoning " blend that you like... Guest guest
If I make something new that turns out really well, I have to take a picture of it! I did that with my best breads and pies and cakes and the potato soup. Not sure why but just had to do it! :-) in VA Re: dinner tonight >> uhmmmmm..... sorry drooling over here.. anyway, what time> do we show up for this yummy meal? > Angie> See you at 7! Guest guest
on my way Actually in what I hope will be my last Gluten Sunday, I've made " old-fashioned " meatloaf, using gluten cracker crumbs and then Child's scalloped potatoes, and it is smelling devine here.... Looking forward to your pictures Angie > > > > uhmmmmm..... sorry drooling over here.. anyway, what time > > do we show up for this yummy meal? > > Angie > > > See you at 7! > > I'll take a picture of the spread. Guest guest
My problem is, if it's good, it's gone before I can take a picture!! I feel kinda silly having a picture of cookies and NOT of the kids eating them! Gotta remember to do that next time! : ) kathi --- " :-) " wrote: > If I make something new that turns out really well, I have to > take a picture of it! Guest guest
I always tell DH to WAIT!!! so I can take a picture. it's sad, I know, but this food takes all this effort and artistry to prepare and then you eat it and it's gone! I just have to document the successes- always nice to look back and remember what you made. I also don't use a film camera so no reason to hold back! > > > > > > uhmmmmm..... sorry drooling over here.. anyway, what time > > > do we show up for this yummy meal? > > > Angie > > > > > See you at 7! > > > > I'll take a picture of the spread. Guest guest
My husband has gotten used to me taking pictures of weird things or just food or objects, now he even says "take a picture of it' if it's something I seem amazed at. Guest guest
yeah I feel the same way about all the work that goes in to it. AND THEN THEY JUST EAT IT!!! Can you believe it?? I get to the point sometimes that I won't make or buy something cuz they'll just eat it! hehe I'm silly I know, but my family (2 teenage boys and a hubbie) make dinner on ONE thing!! There's not enough steak in Texas to feed my oldest!! So I don't buy it. On a good note, I just pulled 9 of the 12 or so Grandma's Buns out of the oven. Man...these look better than the first ones! AND I dug my Caphalon jelly roll pan out of the closet! I THINK 12 of the pans will fit on ONE cookie sheet! Nine of 'em swim a bit. It'll be nice to get one batch done at one time!! Ya'll are the greatest. kathi --- seamaiden399 wrote: --------------------------------- I always tell DH to WAIT!!! so I can take a picture. it's sad, I know, but this food takes all this effort and artistry to prepare and then you eat it and it's gone! Guest guest
Oh, ok, gottcha Melonie, I was reading the "too" as meaning along with the others who were heading to seamaiden's instead of you meant too as in both of us....
