Guest guest
My 2 and a half year old daughter wanted to " wee like daddy " when she was being potty trained. Got a bit embarrassing when she decided to do it in the garden in front of elderly maiden aunt and told everyone what she was doing! :0) Francesca Toilet/Potty training! > (DH) and I were busying ourselves getting the bath ready for Josh > (DS). Guest guest
LOL! Apparently, when I was learning, I wanted to pee standing up like my older brother and would scream and cry if anyone tried to get me to sit... Guest guest
>Can some boys mums enlighten me please. 3 boys trained so far, so I have plenty of experience! All mine started off sitting on the potty, progressed to sitting on the toilet and then standing at the toilet. They did it in their own time, I never even suggested they stand, they obviously just decided that their anatomy suited it! If Josh is happy standing, don't discourage it, you've just missed one of the transitions and the transfer to the toilet will probably be easier :-) It's very helpful when you're out and about if they can stand up and use a convenient drain/hedge etc. Only problem is that you'll get a lot more puddles on the floor I expect - small boys don't aim well! Good luck! We have one of those potty chairs/thrones which has a raised back and sides. This acts as a splash back for a stand up and wee toddler, meaning that most of the wee doesn't go on the floor. Guest guest
- small boys don't aim well! Good luck! Must admit the " aiming " was the funny part (well on this initial occasion anyway), he was grabbing his scrotum with both hands, so his willy was resting on the top, so to speak. So the moving from side to side didn't have much impact! Perhaps I best try to teach him a better technique, but not had that much experience myself!! Guest guest
Verity actually did manage to pee standing up quite a few times not long after potty training. She insisted that she had to do it like her brother and surprisingly managed to aim perfectly! Seemed to outgrow that phase quite quickly though and prefers to sit now. (in case you're wondering - this was standing on a step leaning forwards from the hips ;o) Hannah, 27 Mum to Bethany 6 1/2, Lawrence nearly 5, Verity 2 1/2 and Baby due Feb 2001 > LOL!
