Guest guest
LOL. No, I said I would send the words/lyrics along. Although not sure if I can zip it up. Regards >>I don't know this one. How does it go (how you're going to explain how it goes via email I don't know ! :-)) ? -- Clare Lusher.
Guest guest
>1) Summer time and the living is easy ........fish are jumping and the >cotton is high .......... Thanks - have just printed off the lyric and learned it. Sang it to her tonight. She loved it. It's one of my faves too but I have never bothered learning past the first line. She's decided she wants me to learn 'I saw Mummy kissing Santa Claus' too after I sang the first couple of lines and then ad-libbed 'I don't the words.... but I bet daddy wasn't too pleased'!!! -- Sue

Guest guest
>>>Does everyone have a song they associate with their newborn baby (or babies) ? Mine was Pure Shores by All Saints, because I loved it, and Dan<<<< We sang Lollipop Lollipop to Holly but said Hollypop instead ... had to stop thought because she eventually introduced herself as Hollypop .... She used to take note and the Lombard Finance add (the one with the blue phone) and still does ... she'd stop everything for that add... Also Face on Nick jr always gets Haydn attention... Guest guest
I have a noo-noo song which my mum used to sing while cuddling us if we were hurt or upset. I used it when mine were babies and had colic, & they cried incessantly DD2 still comes and asks me to hold her tight and sing it if she is feeling grumpy & frustrated. As mum died when DD1 was 11 mths old I feel this is something I can pass down to them from her, which they will always have. Does anyone know its origin? 'Here we are again Happy as can be all good friends and jolly good comp-a-nee. Never mind the weather, Never mind the rain here we are together, and off! we go again!' (go to top and repeat ad infinitum getting quieter and softer, and then just gently huming)
Guest guest
> (I'm assuming you can remember > I'll sing you xxxx-o, Grren grow the rushes o > What is your xxxx-o? Brilliant Sue - didn't realise it was religious until now - and what with the Chinese whisper phenomenon, some of what I did remember was rather garbled. Guest guest
> I feel another thread coming on here... Was allowed our CD player in the labour ward and DH and I distinctly remember, " Lucy in the sky with diamonds " by Elton as I was trying to push DS out. Perhaps this is why he refused to come out the natural way - who knows?

Where did you print it off from? DS always picks up on the word " baby " BTW

Guest guest
A good source of lyrics generally used to be www.lyrics.ch but they now put some copyright protection thing on which means the lyrics are always easily viewable. I use google.com too and type in 'lyric name of song' >I only know one verse - not that it bothers DS - are there anymore? >Where did you print it off from? This is from the Charlotte Church fans site http://www.charlottechurchfans.com/music/ll9.html Summertime And de livin is easy Fish are jumpin an de cotton is high oh yo daddy's rich an yo ma's good lookin so hush little baby don you cry One of dese mournins You goin to rise up singin Den you'll spread yo wings An you'll take the sky But till that mournin Deres a nothin can harm you With daddy an mommy standin by But another site has a slightly better spelt version! http://users.bart.nl/~ecduzit/billy/song/song219.html SUMMERTIME and Ira Gershwin / DuBose Heyward Summertime and the livin' is easy Fish are jumpin' and the cotton is fine (Sue's comment - fine or high?) Oh your Daddy's rich and your ma is good lookin' So hush little baby, don't you cry One of these mornings You're goin' to rise up singing Then you'll spread your wings And you'll take the sky But till that morning There's a nothin' can harm you With daddy and mammy standin' by -- Sue
