I only usually sing 2 song to DS

1) Summer time and the living is easy ........fish are jumping and the

cotton is high ..........

2) the Tarzan ballard - Come stop your crying....you'll be alright, just

take my hand and hold it tight............

I sing the odd Christian worship song if it sticks in my head after church

Green Grow the Rushes O - now that brings back memories - but not enough -

would it be too much to ask you to remind me of the words?

9 bright shiners

8 april rainers/reigners?

7 stars in the sky

6 proud walkers

5 symbols at your dorr

4 gospel makers

3 rivals

2 lily white boys dressed up all in green ho, ho

1 is one and all alone and ever more shall be so

(I'm assuming you can remember

I'll sing you xxxx-o, Grren grow the rushes o

What is your xxxx-o?

I only usually sing 2 song to DS

> PLEASE give me some more ideas!!!!

I have a go at " Hands up Baby, Hands up, give me your love

give give me give your love give .............. "

Isaac appreciates it - he also likes the

" size one " by the Beautiful South which is one I play in the

car often.

From school mass we have " The trees of the Fields shall

clap their hands " . Which is a hit with all the children at school.

The others 2 don't appreciate me singing to them!

Why is it that whenever I start singing my daughter starts waving her finger

and saying 'stop it mummy', and 'enough, enough'.

Seriously I'm not that bad!!

That happens to my friend with her son. In fact, he cries whenever she

sings, even Happy Birthday at his party.

I can identify with this. Every time I open my mouth tells me to stop

singing. She now has a rule that I can sing on every day except Monday so

whenever I start to sing I get " what day is it mummy? " with a very stern

look.

And I really thought (or should I call him Xopher) was the only

child with this particular foible!

I used to hate my mum singing - so embarrassing. (Matter of fact I still

do.)

From my DK toddler CD:

Five busy bumble bees

This old man....

Twinkle Twinkle Star (he sings Tiddle Tiddle Star)

Row row row your boat

Mulberry bush

Head shoulders, knees and toes.

Although she may be too big for these now! If you like any of these and

don't know the words I can send them across.

What about " If you're happy and you know it " - Harry's fav. as we sing if

you are Harry and you know it....

Or the pop song I sing to him: Brittany Spears " I was born to make you

happy " and I sing " I was born to change your nappy " !!! ;-)

Funnily enough....

This was no 1 shortly after he was born, and we used to play the cd in the

car to get him off to sleep! Rob and I used to duet and change the words to

" You're such a perfect boy, I'm glad I gave birth to you "

Spookeeeee!!

(though obviously why the song is **so** deep in your subconscious!)

I feel another thread coming on here... Georgi's song is MPeoples " just for

you " it was in the charts when she was born...I always loved it & then my

best friend sent us the CDsingle...

always seemed appropriate especially after all her birth traumas.

Not quite the same, but on the drive to the hospital to have DS 'Its the end

of the world as we know it' was playing on the stereo!

Does everyone have a song they associate with their newborn baby (or

babies) ? Mine was Pure Shores by All Saints, because I loved it, and

Dan and I used to sit on the sofa for hours, BF for England, watching

MTV. He always perked up, pulled off the nipple (not literally !) and

watched the video when it came on. Even now, he still stops what he's

doing and bops when it's on.

Brown eyed girl - Van on

Happened to have the tape in the car early in pregnancy and was

convinced I was going to give birth to a brown-eyed girl. Later thought

it would be a boy but, nope. Brown-eyed girl I had.

Do you still have the address? My father used to sing this to me and I've

been trying to remember it - but unfortunately I can't remember enough to

follow all the lines from your post!
