So my fellow SCD friends..

Yesterday my intercom rings.. Delivery is coming!! I always get

giddy getting packages. It's my grassfed meat order- YAY! I usually

buy it from a couple of local people here but since a botched B12 shot

and getting a cold I have had to make my life easier- so I ordered

online. Anyway, I am totally delighted and thankful that I can get

this through the mail in such professional wonderful packaging and

service. Very good contingency for me!

So I am sorting through my package, placing everything outstretched on

my table and counter. Carefully putting some items in freezer bags

marking with a Sharpie the date and item (not the greenest thing to do

still trying to work on this- I do reuse freezer bags)

I open my large freezer and I sort through- I totally forgot that I

had lovely pasture raised grass finished lamb chops.. my mind starts

to crunch and I decide that I will defrost the chops. Still

rummaging, I finally get to a point of order which leads me to open my

small freezer- the one in the fridge.. I move some frozen broccoli

and fish around and OHH MY GOODNESS!!! OHH NO! My beautiful bone

broth in various jars somewhat similar to mason jars CRACKED!! Frozen

liquid goo everywhere (Obviously I had to put jars on top shelf ARGH!)

So I had to clean my freezer. A lot of work especially with a cold.

Thankfully, I had enough energy to do it. Didn't have to throw many

things away besides the cracked jars. So it could of been worse!

I have been doing this for months.. I know to make sure to let the

broth cool before placing in jars and I let jars totally cool because

lord knows I have broken many many items in my life due to temp

fluctuation. But, I am so careful about this especially with the bone

broths I do not know what I did wrong!?! Interestingly, all the jars

that were a larger size cracked.. the smaller ones did not.

So, I was wondering which vessel do you folks use to freeze broth and

liquids in the freezer? I do not want to use plastic. Often times I

taste plastic in my food and it bothers me.

Any info would be appreciated..
