Does it snow in Chicago in June? Here in WV we only have two seasons: Winter

and August. Well, if there is no snow and the Good Lord wiulling I really would

hope to be in Chicago. And since I will be bringing that old Lazy Boy of mine

(gotta get this guy a name) I'd consider sharing a room if anyone thinks they

can stand me for a day or two. We have started to bathe twice a week here in WV

since we got running water.....Just holler. My driver will want one bed but

with two doubles we would share....No Vaughn, it has to be a lady. Or a

female.

OK, , put me in your book. I'll start packing.

Celebration time

Gentner and Thomson are trying to estimate how many

are interested in coming to Chicago June 25-26, 2004.

This will be an extra special connection, in that we will be

celebrating the PLS Symposium that will take place June 4-6th.

As most of you know, NORD put a restriction on the symposium that

excluded patients from attending the Symposium. But nothing says we

can't have a victory celebration. We worked hard, now we get to

have fun!

We will have a " Meet and Greet " Friday evening. Then Saturday

morning, Dr. Siddique will give us an update on what was determined

at the symposium. Hopefully, that will be a firm diagnostic criteria

for PLS. There will also be a breakout session for those interested

in genetics and after lunch we'll take a tour of the lab. Heck, we

might even get lucky enough to see one of the PLS mice that Dr.

Siddique has engineered.

This should be an exciting and informative gathering. I'm looking

forward to seeing all of you there, so please, say you'll come!

We need to block rooms for this event, so let us know if you are

thinking you might like to come. This isn't a formal count, just to

get an idea on the number of rooms needed.

We'll be at the Radisson Hotel & Suites - Chicago, 160 East Huron

St., Chicago, Il 60611.

We've negotiated a special rate of $109 per night. This is a BIG

discount from the regular rates in June. We are able to get

Executive Kings or Executive Double Doubles for those that would

like to room with someone, or those with kids.

Contact ,

and let her know the room type you would be interested in and how

many would be attending.

Remember, this is just to get a idea of how many rooms we need. You

aren't committing to anything yet.

I'm hoping for a huge turnout. This is our big event, our chance to

celebrate, and my chance to thank all of you for making this happen.

Ronnie & ,

I'm originally from neighboring Indiana and I've never seen snow in June.

Hey...that reminds me...Mike Gray, are we finally going to be able

to meet you in person?

Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much.

Ronnie,

If it snows in Chicago in June, I'll eat my hat. Or cane, your

choice.

I'm so happy you are coming. It should be a lot of fun.

Don and I are coming in one the 24th so we'll have a full day to get

ready for you all.

That depends on the dates and what my son's soccer schedule is. He may

be in tournament that weekend.

Let me know,

Mike,

June 25-27 are the dates. Ya know, the standard Gathering Dinner Friday

night, meeting on Saturday. How many more years is your son going to mess up

your

coming to our Connections? (Just kidding.)
