Guest guest
Welllll... let me clarify the temps yesterday. The ACTUAL temperature was 24 degrees below zero. With the wind chill factored in, it was about 48 degrees below zero. Yes... that means if you live somewhere warmer and the low temp was like 40 degrees.... you were 88 degrees warmer than us. To top it off, when I got to work yesterday at 7 AM, the heater at work wasn't working. The temp in the building was a balmy 52 degrees. The furnace guy got it fixed at about 2:30 PM. Thank goodness I have my ceramic heater at work. Of course I also had my long underwear, two pairs of socks, a turtleneck, corduroy shirt, scarf, two jackets, a hat and my jeans on.... oh, and my winter boots. Holy schneikes! But.... it could be worse. How? Well, what if mosquitos could live in this cold weather? Our motto about the winter weather is... " It keeps the riff-raff out. " in MN.... Wayyyyy up north. > Start spreadin' the news... > > > ...I got back today... > > I was SUPPOSED to get back yesterday, but today it was. Guest guest
I live in southern NY. I change my clothing when I weigh in once a month. I have been wearing a very light pair of shorts and a nice tank top to weigh in. I used to wear heavier shorts. As a life member, I would never wear something heavy. If one wants to change their clothes, go right ahead. Jeans does make the weigh in heavier. It is cold here today. I am sure MN and WI is freezing. People have to live somewhere. Most stay where they were pretty much raised. Happy winter. Cyrella
Guest guest
, Can you imagine a weigh in at ww meeting with all those clothes on? I am in Wisconsin, so it isn't much different. Why do we live here? The beautiful lush green summers and incredibly beautiful fall. We do hope to have a " winter home " somewhere else when my dh retires, but that is a ways off yet. Guest guest
Hubby has discussed retiring near Janesville, WI and I think he's a little nutty. But then he's from the Black Hills of South Dakota. I suspect we'll remain down south, because I have arthritis and I don't think his desert rat would do well in colder climes. > > > > , > > Can you imagine a weigh in at ww meeting with all those clothes on? > I am in Wisconsin, so it isn't much different. > > Why do we live here?
