Guest guest
hi people - i just got word from dr. de smet that he thinks my x-rays look very good for resurfacing !! he said severe osteo in left hip with some dysplasia, but good match between head & cup. i'm quite happy. i also sent my x-rays to dr. treacy, but i haven't heard back from him yet. i am wondering about some things and hope maybe someone can answer some questions. has anyone gone to belgium or england alone for the surgery? if so, how difficult was it? any suggestions? i live alone in my house and can probably get some help from my neighbor, but don't want to impose too much. will this be a problem? any suggestions as to how to orchestrate my space and my day to best utilize the help i do ask for? my local grocery store can do home delivery and i was going to pay a cleaning person to come in and tidy up for a few weeks after i'm back. any thoughts? will i need to change bandages and that sort of thing? is this hard to do solo? what kind of time frame should i expect before being able to drive? i have an automatic and i will be getting my LEFT hip resurfaced (it doesn't do anything when i drive)? thanks for all the great info on this site. jeff
