Lizzie,

I didn't have a port but I think it depends on the person and also what the dr recommends. I haven't know ladies that have kept theirs for several years.

Question about port

I had my last chemo (Ihope) how soon after do they remove your port??If anybody knows Lizzie

Lizzie,

You should be meeting with your oncologist to discuss what happens next.

Usually after chemo they'll run some scans or do tests to figure out if

the cancer is gone. If any of the tests involves IVs or shots, your port

would remain in until after those tests, unless it's really bothering you.
