I sure wish there were more of these closer.

I read a lot of the post and most are from the East. You all have created a

great bond and support group. I am glad to at least read how you all cope.

Someday, if it is in Gods plans, this type of support will get closer to home.

Yes, Pat, you're right, we're getting ready for a great Connection. The

registration form or agenda hasn't been finalized yet, but we have a committee

of

3 from the HSP community and 3 from the PLS community. Here's a bit of

information of what's to come. It will be held March 6th at the Holiday Inn in

Raleigh (more information later).

First thing we'll meet for a sharing session, have lunch and then break into

two different rooms.

Dr. Marchuk, from Duke University who was one of the first recipients of the

SPF Research grants will be the speaker for the HSP people (now you know why

it is being

held in Raleigh so we could get him as a speaker). No doubt he'll bring the

HSPers

up to date on the HSP mouse model in his laboratory.

We are still working on a PLS session...we may just need to take lots of time

to get to really know Cookie and Pat and I'm really looking forward to seeing

Don and Bettie Jo again! Don does have a couple of ideas for a program so you

know it'll be good.

We'll then reconvene both communities for a " finale " .

It may seem like most of the Connections are on the East Coast but not

necessarily. Bonnie held one in Phoenix last year. I live in California and

I'm

having a casual luncheon for people who want to attend on January 17th. Dale is

having his second one in Colorado later in January. All it takes is someone

to plan one. Some have speakers and some are just getting together with

others who know how to spell PLS or HSP. :-)
