I've had irregular periods since I was 12 yrs old. I was on the

pill on and off for the last 7-8 years, and my period was regulated.

I went off the pill on 12/2001 to ttc. Didn't get a period until my

internist put me on Provera, still did't get period after one cycle

so I decided to see an RE. My doctor first diagnosed me with

amenorrhea, then she ordered ultrasound and HSG (to see if my tubes

are blocked). At the HSG, she saw my tubes were open and found

scarring/adhesions and decided to take them out. I've never had

history of D & C, abortion, infection or any trauma that I know of. I

had a resection of adhesion in August. She put me on three cycles of

hormone, estrogen and progesterone. I've been getting my period, 5-7

days after finishing progesterone. I'm on my last cycle now and I

had a follow up HSG last Monday, the radiologist said, my tubes are

wide open, but there is still some scarring- she couldn't get into

details, because she doesn't know what the extent of my surgery was.

Now, its Friday, I called my doctor yesterday for the result and

haven't heard from her. Most of the stuff I know, I learned from

reading. She didn't really explain anything but a one straight

answer to every question. I guess I need to be more inquisitive and

agressive when I talk to her. I guess my problem was is that I

didn't know what I have or might have is Ashermans, I just saw from

my pre-op paperwork that my diagnosis was uterine

synechiae/adhesions. From my further reading, I was able to connect

uterine synechiae/adhesions to Ashermans. I haven't formally heard

from my doctor that what I have is Ashermans. So, as I read on I was

able to relate what I have to Ashermans except I don't have any

history of D & C etc. I do have a 15 year old son, I had him when I

was 15 yrs old. I am 31 now. By the way, I'm new to the group, and

I have yet to send in all my info. I'll send them ASAP. I really

appreciate any information and support I will get from everybody.

I'm just learning more about Ashermans. I am a member of amenorrhea

yahoo group, it is helpful somehow but I am all mixed up about my

condition. I don't have PCOS, my hormone levels are normal, my

weight is the same as it was no drastic changes. I am now leaning

more towards Ashermans as my diagnosis for not getting a period and

not get pregnant yet. Like everybody else, I want to get pregnant

and I'm looking at all aspects, as to why I can't get pregnant or

have a period. I feel that I just need to be more educated what's

going on so I can ask the right questions to my RE when I see or talk

to her again. Again thank you.

Can I suggest that you make an appointment with and endo, not an

internist? They are probably not going to be the best person to

handle thyca - and endo who knows thyca IS.

I just wrote you all a 5 page letter thanking you and answering

's response, but I pressed post instead of send, so I lost

it all. At least it was cathartic. Too bad I don't have the time or

energy to do it all again. I am taking Altace and Avapro qd and

clonidine prn. the avapro and altace have droped my proteinuria from

4700 mg to 800 mg, so we are well-pleased. My b/p is pretty much

under control. It RARELY gets above 130's over 80's.

Thanks Pierre, for answering my questions. I have nothing but the

utmost respect and awe for you, particularly since the word patience

is not in my vocabulary.

I hate to gross you guys out but I am determined to find the source

of my recent nausea. Remember I told you there would be times when I

was have the sudden urge to vomit, but thenit would pass. Tonight it

didn't pass, and it was awful. Once again, sorry to be gross but I

have never thrown up so violently. I could literally feel my stomach

msucles cramping down, and I thought my head would explode. I wanted

it to explode cause I thought it might make me feel better. I waited

an hour then tried some sprite and jello. Bad idea. 30 minutes

later that all came up. This time I had chest pain added to all that

and told myself mentally that I HAD to stop before I gave myself a

heart attack. My B/P is up. bit I'm afraid the clonidine won't stay

down. I have no fever, so I don't know what's going on. I have a

friend who asked me about all I've eaten the last 24 hrs, and I have

to admit, I've had a larger than normal amount of fried food since

last night. She thinks maybe my kidneys and my stomach are not

handling it so well. Otherwise, unless it's my kidneys I don't know

what it is. The only new med I'm on is Wellbutrin, I switched from

Effexor to that about a month ago. , I know nausea is one

fo the side effects, but surely it wouldn't cause nausea to this

degree. What do you think? I told Dr. O. last visit that I had been

nauseated, but he didn't say anything about it. Ugh, this si a pain

in the butt.
