Guest guest
wow someones hating life today. I have days like that, where I feel like I'm going to puke if I have to look at another piece of meat, that's when I usually go on cherry binges You may be getting bored of your food, how bout trying something different? Add more veggies to your routine. Food is not something to be enjoyed, it is something to substantiate your body. Remember the old saying " eat to live dont live to eat " yeah yeah it's old, but it's true! I personally get way too much pleasure out of eating, thus I am bigger than I should be. Try to add variety and you may be able to make it! Guest guest
I hope this does not upset or offend you but I really don't think you are ready to make the commitment to this WOE. Now this is my opinion based on your post so if I am wrong I apologise in advance, but you always ask if you should eat something then when told no you say surely it will not hurt me and eat it anyway. I thought you were ready to start this WOE? Maybe you are just havng a bad day and maybe you should just pick another day to start over or not. If you could just do this for 2 weeks strictly by induction the rest will be easy. Trust me on this. This is not a miracle diet you always have to change your eating habits and be determined and commited in order for this or any diet to work. I don't think it will hurt you to eat cheese every day if you limit it to 4 oz. and the reason you gained the first time has a lot more to do with all the other carbs you ate rather than the cheese. Sheila ********************* Hi Irstie, I'm eating slices of Kraft chedder cheese. I try to skip a day. I don't eat cheese every day. I was doing this the first time, and I gained weight. I know to not eat more than 4 oz. Do you think I should not have any cheese during this time? I really want this to work. It is beef Summer Sausage. I can't eat any other kind of sausage. Too greasy. Makes me sick. Well, the coupon is good until December. I can wait. OK, OK, I'll wait until the two weeks are over before I weigh. I know this is suppose to be good for my health, yada, yada, yada, but I miss diet pops, diet drinks, nuts, etc. I was not a cake/candy person, but I'm not a meat person either. I hate meat. That's all you can eat on this stupid diet. Oh, I'm sorry, WOL. If it works, great. If it is not for me, I need to find out so that I can enjoy food and still stay at 160. Maybe I'm having a bad reaction today. Sorry if I sound negative.
Guest guest
Debbie, You could probably have any of the first three meals listed in my poll for an induction meal as long as you go easy on the cauli-taters. Guest guest
It's my TOM. This was a bad week to start, but oh well! I think the water is helping me - I'm not as cranky and crampy as usual. Debbie - definitely tell us what you're eating. I just started back on the list this week, so I haven't read your previous emails. And what are your stats? Diane in SC 162/??/150 (short term goal) 5'7" (I just found out last week that I've shrunk an inch! thanks a lot!) age 38 (ack! I first thought "36"! depressed now!) restarted 6/5/2001 - lost 25 lbs 5/99-5/00, regained 10 since Jan 01 (hurray that I'm back on Atkins!) >>Debbie, one other thought, is it your TOM (time of month)? That could causeconstant hunger too.Jean
Guest guest
Unless the dressing is made of pure oil and water, it does have some amount of carbs per serving because every other ingredient used in salad dressings does have some carbs. A label can say 0 if there are less than 1 carb per serving (and the serving sizes can be smaller than what you would think a serving should be). I'm not saying don't eat salad dressing, just like eating sunflower seeds and cottage cheese is ok in moderation too. Just be aware of where your 20 carbs per day are coming from. Have you had a look at the turtles menus to see what a healthy day of low carb eating looks like? You might be pleasantly surprised :-) Kirstie
Guest guest
Great message Diane, and great idea on that spag sauce over non-noodles. I occasionally eat a few spoons of sauce when I make the kids spaghetti, but haven't had it ON anything. HJ ----- Original Message ----- So you can't complain that Atkins is not working for you, because you're not on Atkins. Supper - 1/4 cup LC spag sauce (cooked with too much sauteed garlic and sliced jalapenos - my husband loves this) over lots of sliced turkey, and mushrooms/broccoli sauteed in garlic oil, 1 oz shredded Asiago cheese, large salad (lettuce, cauliflower, LEETLE bit of onion) with V/O (9C)
Guest guest
Debbie, Many, many people have been trying to help you in the last few days. We've been very patient, courteous, and trying to treat you with tenderness while you get the hang of this. However, it still seems that you're not very serious about this and really aren't following the true Atkins diet. You and I have emailed privately, and I've been trying to help you the best I can, but it seems that you don't want to take anybody's advice, but still do your own version of what you think low-carb is. But yet you complain about many things and go on and on. You told me that you haven't seen your boyfriend in over a year, yet today on the list you say 7 months. You told me that you've gained 20 pounds since you've seen him but today say that he's asked you if you've lost weight, implying that you gained it before he left. So which is it? It may seem like nothing, but it makes me feel like you're not being real truthful with us. I don't want to sound harsh, but there's so many wonderful, loving people here who will support you and help you, but it's starting to sound like you really don't want to be helped. We are all pulling for you but you have to want to be helped. You're only hurting your body by doing what you're doing and thinking about not eating for a day, etc. . .. that will only hinder your weight loss progress.
