What do you think? > I am not an ultrasound expert and I hope I did not come across as someone who thinks she knows a lot about this imaging modality. Whatever little I learned was " on the job. " The transvaginal probe gets closer to the uterus and therefore affords a different perspective. Some doctors will order the abdominal and a transvaginal, or just the abdominal if you have had the transvaginal done recently. If the doctor does not order a transvaginal study when an ultrasound is deemed necessary, it might be a good idea to quiz him/her why. I hope everyone had a happy New Year!
