Hi Francesca, I'm just up the road (M25) near Epsom. If I ever get around to it, there will be a meeting here early next year. I think I need to get Christmas over with before I make any rash decisions on date, especially as I am STILL waking at 4am every day - bother! Hope you enjoy this group, I certainly do

I didn't join the NCT until my second daughter was about 3months old too. Within a couple of months I was the branch treasurer. That was 11 years ago and was one of the best best moves I have ever made. Now I am a breastfeeding counsellor and a trustee and I *love* the NCT. I will work for it till I drop - in one capacity or another. Have fun, enjoy the list and the wider NCT Sue Saxey
Guest guest
Thanks , I don' always have access to a car so Epsom might be a bit difficult on public transport but let me know the dates anyway ... Guest guest
>I have just joined nct-coffee and while not a member of nct I am seriously thinking about it(probably will when have spare money after xmas). Hi Mel, welcome to the list. Why not ask somebody to get you NCT membership as a Christmas present? I am sure there will be a branch local to you which holds coffee mornings and other events so that you can start to meet people. If you call UK office on 0 you can get the phone number of a local contact. You can go along to NCT events before you join you know, so don't feel you have to wait until your membership is sorted. In the meantime we virtually have a 24 hour coffee morning here, so put the kettle on and enjoy :-) Lynda SAHM to (7), (5), Fraser (3), Callum (15/5/00) Newsletter editor, Mid-Northumberland Branch http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumList?u=762789
Guest guest
Introduction > Hi > I have just joined nct-coffee and while not a member of nct I am seriously thinking about it(probably will when have spare money after xmas). Hi Mel and welcome. You can join the NCT with a direct debit of £9 a quarter which might make it easier to afford! I can thoroughly recommend membership, I joined when my first was newborn and have never looked back (seven years ago now). > > My name is Mel and I am a working mum to Katy who is 31/2 months old (30/08/00). I live in Eccles near Manchester but only moved here nine months ago and don't know alot of people. I am not one for getting Katy weighed every week so only see people at baby clinic once a month but I am quite shy and don't like going to coffee mornings/mother and toddler groups on my own. > Know the feeling (I'm not particularly shy but find toddler groups really difficult). In my last branch we used to say contact the coffee morning person and let her know you're new, then she'll take care of you. If you need contact details, phone HQ for the number. Guest guest
Hi Mel Another one off the cross stitch list. I have just joined here too expecting baby 1 around 21st March 2001. I'm fairly near you in Stockport but don't give up work until Feb so there is still a while to go yet. This group is very friendly and so is the NCT. I've just joined and am going to be doing their antenatal classes but what I have heard about their coffee mornings is that if you do go along then you will be made to feel welcome because everyone had to start somewhere, and I'm sure others will let me know if I am wrong here but you don't have to be a member to go along to the coffee mornings either. Good luck a
Guest guest
Mel I am terminally shy (don't everyone laugh - its a lot easier to be outspoken on email). I couldn't bear the thought of mum and toddler groups - all those women standing round only talking to their friends and me stuck on the edge not being able to join in... <shiver>. So much so in fact that Emma and I used to visit friends and I left the 'playing with lots of other children' thing until she went to preschool at 2 and a half. But I did join the committee of our local branch - I was there for a reason and that made it easier. now I have loads of friends and a wonderful committee and have done loads of different things for the NCT over the last 4 years. In fact this year I facilitated a group on 'working in the community' which I knew nothing about and it went well. That is something I could never have dreamed of doing 4 years ago. The NCT has given me so much, and a lot of self confidence in gorups as well. And the big bonus with the NCT is that it has something for everyone - you just have to find your niche. Oh and I took a breastfeeding class with 16 couples the other week - it was scary but I did it and I think it went well. I could never have done that before emma, unless it was work related. Good luck finding your niche. Sue H. > My name is Mel and I am a working mum to Katy who is 31/2 months old > (30/08/00). I hate standing up infront of a group, avoided presentations like the wind at work, screamed and broke down infront of the video on the presentation course even! I did teacher training for Early Years and found standing infront of the class very difficult. Consequently went into computing and NOT teaching! The only place I managed to keep composed and felt OK about giving a " speech " was at my father's funeral. the strange

I became pregnant 6mo post op and continued to lose weight another 15 lbs or so well into my 2nd trimester. Guest guest
> Hi! > > I'm new to the group, and looking for a recommendation for a doctor. My daughter, Belle, was born on October 19 with a very mild right club foot that my midwives believe has been caused by the baby's position in the womb. Welcome, KerryAnn! Congratulations on your sweet new baby girl. Here's a URL for a list of physicians by state who are qualified in the use of the Ponseti method for correcting clubfeet. http://www.vh.org/Patients/IHB/Ortho/Peds/Clubfeet/Physicians.html My midwives also thought that my son's foot might be positional (a condition known as metatarsus adductus) because he sat breech for several weeks, however he has a true clubfoot (the right foot, like your daughter's) As I have learned since his birth, the severity of the clubfoot isn't so much how much it is turned in, but how stiff it is. I'm just mentioning this because my midwives and the doctor that I initially consulted about his foot (when he was a week old) were very reassuring that it could be easily fixed... so reassuring that I didn't react very swiftly when the doctor's office took quite some time in arranging my appointment with the orthopedist. No real harm was done, but the sooner casting can be started, the better. My little guy is now 10 weeks old and about to have his 3rd cast. I am so grateful that I searched the internet while waiting for my appointment to be made and realized that I needed to just make the appointment myself, immediately, and with a different doctor! The stories I have read about surgical treatment for clubfeet had me in tears ;(. Best of luck researching the issue! Guest guest
Hi Kerryann welcome to the group. The people here are very helpful and friendly. They have helped me out alot. I found out my daughter Isabella had bilateral clubbed feet from a 16 week ultrasound. She was born October 12th and is in her third set of casts. She gets the heel release procedure done this friday and then put in her last pair of casts. I emailed Dr.Ponsetti myself and asked who he recommended in the kansas city area and he replied the same day. He is a great man. Use the link the other lady gave you and it will give you his email address. He will answer any questions you ask him. I wish i knew what caused clubbed feet but who knows. Keep reading about clubbed feet and the ponsetti method and look at pictures of the procedure and it will help you alot. > Hi! > > I'm new to the group, and looking for a recommendation for a doctor.
