Guest guest
The 48% GFR reading was taken after the first 6 months on the pred. My neph didn't think I would gain any function back due to the nasty biopsy report I had but figures either I'm hyperflitrating, or my other kidney isn't as badly damaged, or I had a ton of inflammation that was causing my GFR to read at the 35% at my time of diagnosis. We will do another 24 hr urine once I'm off the prednisone for good and see what it shows....but the way my prednisone dosing has been going who knows when that will be! Ah well, I'm still alive and that's what counts. Amy G. To pee or not to pee....that is the question? > > > > > > > I am interested in how often others have to urinate. Guest guest
Hi Sophia, Can you tell if the side effects are better now that you are down to 15 mg? Also, are your labs holding steady with the taper? By the way, I don't recall reading how your dance competition went. How was it? Guest guest
Hi , The most significantly reduced side effect so far is that I don't have this " killer " thirst I used to have. I have noticed (although not always it seems) that my cheekbones and my waist are slowly being defined again (but the chubby cheeks and the gut are still there). I've only had one lab done so far, since I only need to do it monthly. I don't see my neph until Jan, so I don't know how it's going really. Oh yes, my dance competition. Sorry, I've been so busy since getting back, I forgot all about it. I went to a dance competition in November and I did pretty well...I entered about 7 events in the International style Silver and Gold Standard category (Waltz, Quickstep, Foxtrot). 1st place finishes. More importantly, I improved my dancing since the last competition two weeks ago. That makes me happy. : ) Sophia > Hi Sophia, > > Can you tell if the side effects are better now that you are down to 15 mg? > Also, are your labs holding steady with the taper? > > By the way, I don't recall reading how your dance competition went. Guest guest
Hi Sophia, Congratulations on the cheekbones and waist coming around again :-) I hope in Jan you find out that the Prednisone did its thing and you are stable so you can have the children you and your husband desire. We can pray for that. You entered 7 dances? You go girl!!! Congratulations on the first place finishes. I don't know how you can improve on that. Enjoy your weekend!
