" " You need someone to do it for you. " Take a look at your words and your thinking. Change the absolutes to a paratrouper. I bet Jesus has given you the opportunity to make your own choices. " I'm speaking in absolutes, but I didn't invent those absolutes. That's Christianity talking. It's Christianity that teaches that you need to be saved, that you can't save yourself. Steppers say the same thing. I don't believe that. " Jesus " , a.k.a. " God " has supposedly given us the opportunity to make choices - but woe betide us if we make the choice that God doesn't like! You can choose, but you'll get punished if you make the chioce God doesn't want you to make. I don't buy that. (To answer your question, the Dalai Lama is the top guy of Tibetan Buddhism. He's very popular, travels around the world making people aware of what is going on in Tibet, won a Nobel Prize, writes books, has a delightful and lovely presence.) Jewel tells us, " Yes, Jesus saves.....Believe... you CAN Believe if you choose to. " But...but...see, this is what I was talking about. You're saying it yourself. *Jesus* saves. You aren't saying that *we* " save " ourselves and clean up our own lives (what are we to be saved from, anyway?). You're saying that a higher power, in this case Jesus, does the saving. This is the kind of thing some of us are griping about when we object to steppism. Cheers, nz
Guest guest
Do you think I am a stepper ? Well I am NOT. I am very involved with SMART Recovery and REBT. I happen to be a Christian through my own choice. AA is not for me, never has been. Hope your " budda " tells the truth. Stay Safe.
