Guest guest
I just started eating meat after7 years of vegetarianism. I was craving it so badly even though I was eating the amount of protein daily that I was allowed to from vegetarian sources. I thought I would feel ill or something for a few weeks but my body must have needed it badly as I had no adverse effects from starting back on meat after not eating it for 7 years. I still get strong cravings some days but do my best to stay close to my recommended allowance. There are days I go over and feel better for it, I think in the long run listing to my body is key. Guest guest
In my case, I find it's not protein I crave, but carbohydrates and sweets. This was as true before I started dialysis as after. Pierre
Guest guest
I rarely crave protein (unless I've been eating too many salads in a row for dinner....which I have done in the past). Even then, I don't care so much about eating meat....it's the sauce that goes with the meat I love.... Recently, I find I crave carbs more....just precisely the thing I should NOT be eating too much of, since being on prednisone. Good thing I should be slowly weaned off of the pred soon.
