Guest guest
Hi Sandya,That is correct - the Yogourmet is unable to hold the yogurt temp between 100 & 110 for the 24 hours. Some people have found success plugging it into a light dimmer, which then plugs into the wall. They adjust the dimmer so that the heat is reduced. In my case, the Yogourmet + dimmer simply moved from overheating to underheating to overheating. I believe that part of the problem in my situation is that my house is quite cool and drafty.Technically, the Yogourmet 'works' --it holds the fermentation temp the company believes in, and for the period the company believes in. In its normal function, though, it does not meet SCD instructions. However, all of this said, many people --including Elaine, Lucy, and others-- are satisfied that Yogourmet yogurt is just fine for SCD. That is, it does not produce symptoms, so it is apparently sufficiently free of lactose. Finally, I will just mention again that when I announced that I got the Excalibur, a person on another list mentioned her Ex had its yogurt temp all over the place, too. This is a call for each person to make.Sincerely,Badenwww.gapsguide.wordpress.com*Pls kindly reply me soon to this message, as you mentioned the Yogourmet keeps varyying temp, what is that you mean ?it didnt work and you returned it ? Pls make it clear to me; can we not prepare the exact yogurt at temp 104 F for 24 hours with this machine ? Everyone here is saying it does work, what was the problem for you pls answer becuase I am about to order the same machine from Lucy's kitchen very soon. Thank you Sandhya
