Becca,

Oh, how I know how you feel with the HPT's. I've done the same thing myself.

And, YES - it should say that on the insert! I hope you were able to still

go camping!

Becca, you and I are in the same type of spot. I am

usually 31-32 days, but I am only 11dpo. I was going

to test this am, but I decided to wait until Sunday

because of a test I had to take. I'm sorry the tests

are frustrating you. Has the spotting returned? If

it isn't red bleeding, is it possible that it is

implantation spotting, and that you just need to wait

and try the tests later, maybe? -I hope. I know how

absolutely frustrating this all can be. I'm sending

you prayers.

Becca,

I can't believe that, I never heard of a line disappearing like that so soon.

Did you want to test again to double check? I am sorry you had that happen, it

must of been so hard on you and dh. Please keep us informed. Take care.

Actually, it might

be useful info.

I'm having my longest cycle ever. I'm usually 30 days, and am on day

31 (12 days dpo). I've got sore bbs, stomach problems the whole 9

yards and I'm trying to convince myself not to test. A teeny bit of

spotting this am, which has tapered off, but temps are still up. I

try chocolate therapy, but after a box of hohos I'm in such a sugar

frenzy that I can not control myself and test. I've got these " First

Response Early " tests, so I use one. There were two lines. I swear

on my grandmothers grave. Dh saw them too. One was very faint, but

it was a line. We calmed down, came up with a plan to call the dr,

cancel the camping trip etc, and went to look at those two glorious

lines again...

....and there was only one. ARRRGH! What does it mean? The

directions say " read results at 3 minutes " . At three minutes there

were two lines. BUT they also say " A positive will last 48 hours " .

Eh? We repeat this experiment with the other test and saw the same

thing...two lines, with the second line slowly vanishing over about

30 min. So, I call the 1-800 number and spoke with a

representative. She said that if the line disappears, it is

considered negative. Shouldn't they SAY THIS IN THE INSERT!?!

Anyway, just my experience with the First Response Jerk You Around

hpt.

Becca

(for the record, all other brands of hpts were negative)

Grrrrr! How aggravating!!! I've never heard of this before. If af

stays away for a couple days I would be sure to test again. Let us

know what happens.

Hi ,

I did test again to check. In fact did the other First Response with

the same results: a faint, but clearly defined line that vanishes

slowly over 30 min. I should have scanned it so that I could post it

and show you all. The company said that some lots of this brand will

do that, and to " just ignore it " . I feel like asking for a refund.

I wanted to have dh take one just to see if he can get two lines as

well!!

Also, I've found other women on other newsgroups that have had this

same problem with this brand. Apparently, its pretty sensitive so

you can test early with it, but if only a faint line appears, I'd

wait a while before I got excited.

This morning's e.p.t. was neg.

Thanks,

Becca
