Guest guest
Congrats on the new litle one..I also felt like I was, and am, constantly eating since I first became pregnant....Please try not to become too worried, I know easier said than done, I obsess over my eating all the time, but I need to keep in mind the reason I am eating more, as long as you are eating healthy than try not to worry about it....also I hope your husband becomes a little more supportive as time goes on, I know what it means to have someone on your side and suportive, it makes the difference in everything......If you read stories on here, you will see so many of women who didnt gain alot and lost it quickly after birth, and they have healthy babies....good luck Robin RNY 2/27/2002 E.D.D 7/20/2003 5 precious children to light the way
Guest guest
congrats Tricia, baby's are always wonderful, and its only a few months difference, I understand not wanting to have birthdays the same month but you'll work it out you might even find you like it that way. I hope your husband warms up for you because you will need his support. I just had my surgery 3 weeks ago so I am not to the expert level of this surgery but I have read so many people have done so well no matter what stage post-op they are when they get pregnant and sometimes its just not in our hands, so my advise would be to be happy and excited and enjoy every second of your pregnancy (as much as is possible) be extra careful what you eat but dont stress about it. and in a few months you will have a beautiful baby to love. so good luck to you! apryl california open rny 4/22/03 -26 mommy of 3 with 2 more to go! Guest guest
I dont think it is necessary to go to a high risk doctor...I go to one because of my gestational diabetes and past problems I have had with pregnancies, but we, as weight loss surgery patients are not considered high risk in itself. She is probably just uninformed, as alot of doctors are. I hope you find one you can trust, and things will get better as far as the understanding goes from other people, we can only hope...:0) Robin RNY 2/27/2002 E.D.D 7/20/2003 5 precious children to light the way
Guest guest
Thank you Robin for the kind words. I went to my primary doctor today and she wants me to go to a HighRisk OB. Is that necessary? Actually after I went to the Dr today, hubby seems more supportive. Just keeps saying to do it right and eat right. DUH!! Like I need him to tell me that! Like I want to gain back all the weight that I worked to take off!! I go to see my normal OB next Wed. Hopefully she knows something about this surgery but I do not think that she does. I had a hard time finding one around here. Thank you again. Guest guest
I go to my regular doctor, then once a month (so far) he sends me to a high risk maternal-fetal health ob who delivers at a neonatal unit to have an ultrasound and for him to look over my records. it is great because one, I get to see how the baby is growing often and two, it makes me feel a little more at ease that they are keeping a close eye on me ,but it is not because of the surgery, although the high risk doc always asks how I am eating, but he just checks the growth of the baby, so I feel more comfortable being seen by a high risk doctor, good luck in doing whatever it is you decide to do Robin RNY 2/27/2002 E.D.D 7/20/2003 5 precious children to light the way
Guest guest
If my doc told me to see a high risk it tells me he doesn't feel comfortable with my case. I liked seeing a high risk dr because they just keep a closer eye on me. I would ask exactly why they consider you high risk and then either choose a high risk dr or see a doctor who feels qualified to oversee your case. Lenore Re: Lurker comes forward! Guest guest
Tricia, I went to a Perinatalogist (high risk OB) with both my pre and post op pregnancies as I am Epileptic. One very good plus about seeing a Perinatalogist is they tend to do many more ultrasounds in your pregnancy. Which I love! I have 10 ultrasounds in my pre op pregnancy and 14 in my post-op! Who doesn't love seeing your baby? Also with my post-op pregnancy where there were nutritional concerns it was nice to know they were tracking my baby's growth so carefully. Best wishes and good luck! ~
