Guest guest
Hi everyone! This is my first post and my first pregnancy. I am 15 months post RNY and have gone from 280 to 148 and a size 8. I am absolutely thrilled with the progress from my surgery. I was trying to get pregnant, but thought it would take 6 months or so, nope only 1 month. I am absolutely thrilled. I am also very concerned about the weight I will put on. I would be very happy to stay under 25 lbs. I have already lost 2 more lbs, because I started walking 2 miles a day so concerned about the weight. Does anyone have any input on long term post ops and pregnancy? What is the normal weight gain for us? Is there any reason RNY's can't deliver naturally? Are we automatically considered high risk? Input is greatly appreciated. Thanks. Guest guest
I was only 6 months post when I got pregnant but was about 10 pounds from goal. I'm delivering this coming Friday and have gained 18 pounds. I gained 6 in the last week because I started retaining water really bad. Just keep your food choices healthy and keep up with your exercise. I probably wouldn't have gained so much weight if I had kept up with my exercise but I didn't. My doctor has assured me that most if not all of the 18 pounds will be gone within 2 weeks. Since this is my 4th baby I know I'll lose it quickly. I worried about the weight gain for most of the pregnancy and it really caused me to not relax and enjoy the pregnancy. Now that I'm at the end of the pregnancy I wish I had not fretted over it so much. It was so nice to watch that scale going down after surgery and hard to watch it go up during pregnancy. Just remember that the goal is a happy, healthy baby. 15 Months Post RNY & 7 Weeks Pregnant Hi everyone! This is my first post and my first pregnancy.
