Guest guest
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!! Vicki S New to Group Hi Everyone My name is . This is my first time posting. I didn't want to post until I knew for sure if I was getting the surgery. My doctors office called me today and I have been approved for surgery (Yahoooo). I already have my date it is October 24. I am real nervous I didn't think it would be this soon. I have a question for all of you. Do any of you have any regrets, I mean knowing what you know now would you do it all over again. My starting wieght is 346 so I guess anything would be better than this. Oh yeah is there anyone out there in this group from South Carolina? Thanks everyone. I am a little over 4 months out from my surgery, and have no regrets. I haven't yet achieved the results I wanted yet, but these things take time. Anyway, nice to have you with us. Guest guest
: The size of your fibroid is much less important than the location of the fibroid(s) when it comes to bleeding. Very small fibroids located at just the right (or should I say wrong?) position could cause extensive bleeding. I would question your doctor's knowledge and ability to be trusted given that response. You may want to get a second opinion on your fibroid and causes for the bleeding before going through with the ablation. Guest guest
Hello Lana, I'm going to welcome to our group because we're such a nice group of people that you'd rather not have to know. :-) Go to http://als-pls.org/ and you'll have some of the answers to your questions. Now, we're a curious bunch of people, so we'll want to know more about you. Like...where do you live, how long have you had symptoms, who is your neurologist, how old are you...stuff like that. At this same website above, you can read about 90 of our stories, on PLSers Data, so you'll immediately know more about us. I was diagnosed with PLS in 1997 and had symptoms since 1993 or 94 and my symptoms all began with speech. It took that long for me to get a diagnosis. Guest guest
Hi Lana, I can't really enlighten you too much, but I am sure someone else can. All I know is that ALS has upper and lower motor neuron symptoms, and PLS is lower motor neuron symptoms. I think that's right. If not, I am sure someone will " enlighten " me. I do want to tell you how sorry I am for your problems and the diagnosis. Let's hope it is PLS. I have PLS, with symptoms mainly in my legs. Both legs are weak, somewhat spastic, foot drop, and my balance is off. But, I still walk, and even without a cane sometimes. I work full-time and live alone on my acreage. So, I'm really doing pretty good! Welcome to the most fantastic group in Yahoo! You'll get lots of information, support, friendship and laughs here! Take care, God bless, and yes..................keep the faith! Laurel from Iowa new to group Hi everyone! My name is Lana and I was dx with als bulbar 5/03. My family is not convinced that I have als because I'm not showing weakness below my neck even within the nerve or muscle test. The doctors say that it will come because I have such strong symptoms of bulbar. Can someone enlighten me about the difference of als and pls God Bless and Keep the Faith Lana
Guest guest
Hi Lana and welcome to a wonderful group! I have met you at Living with ALS. And I hope you do have pls not als! But either way I hope you stay here. There is so much friendship and inspiration, questions answereed and support, support and support. Pls-Friends and Living with ALS are the best groups! I think you will agree. I am sure more people can give you accurate differences between the two diseases. I think they can be very similiar but the rate of progression is the key note. I have had pls for many years,19 years. Now weakness and spasticity in all areas including bulbar. Good luck to you and keep in touch. I love your Walmart stories. That is one of my favorite stores. Take care. new to group > Hi everyone! > > My name is Lana and I was dx with als bulbar 5/03. Guest guest
Hi Lana, Sorry you had to find us but you're sure welcome. You will learn much about PLS here. Many of us got the wrong diognosis when our symptoms first began. That's because PLS is very rare. This is a wonderful group and you've come to the right place for support. LOVE, PAT in NC
