a,

I am really glad it's over. I went into the pre-surgical unit with her and just as I was leaving because I had to get my boys home- Wednesday's are early days for them- I decided to take a peak at the bag that had brought out for her IV and guess what?? It was Lactated Ringers. Well you can imagine what I did. I made sure they didn't give them to her needless to say. :-) I am good. I promise.

She'll be staying at my house for atleast a few days and then next week my kids are out of school so we'll probably go to her house and stay with her.

Tell her to get well and STAY AWAY FROM GERMS!!!

I'm really glad they have her in sub-acute. One of the people with the pneumonia type flu thing is at the same hospital.

Thank you for the update on Alice. You all must be relieved that everything went okay. She will be in my thoughts and prayers tonight and throughout her recovery. She is one special lady.

Smiles and hugs,

Hi everyone. This is . I'm Alice's daughter. As most of you know she had her CI surgery today tomake her a bilateral CI user. She was very excitedbut also nervous like anyone else would be. Down tothe last minute she asked me if she should really doit. I spoke with her surgeon this after just a littlebefore 2 CST and he said it went really well and all24 electrodes went in. He did tell me that heranatomy of her head in the area was a tad differentand he actually had to search for where he was goingwhich is rare. She'll be in the sub-acute unitovernight because of her sleep apnea and then shouldcome home in the morning. Anyone who would like quicker responses can e-mail medirectly at momto4fabkids@...Thanks!! I am glad that you caught the Lactated Ringers. My uncle caught

it right before one of my surgeries this past summer. You certainly have

to be on the lookout! :-) Your mom has a great daughter!

Smiles,

I am making sure she rests. She's staying with us until she's safe enough to go home and be alone, so I am hoping that won't be for a while. The kids are out of school next week though so we might just go stay with her so she can be at her home. :-) I am sure you guys will probably hear from her today.
