Hi Jess--

Thanks for sharing your story with us. Posting about problems takes a

lot of courage and I give you lots of credit.

You should feel very proud of the 21 lbs. you have lost. That is

terrific!

I agree that walking is so much easier with a buddy. There is some

magical element in being " there " for the other person as to not let

them down. However, I find it is harder to make the exact same

committment to myself. For me, I think it is due to long having

considered myself NOT as important as others. (Anyone follow me here?)

Although I am not aware of your schedules/conflicts, would it be

possible for you and your fiance to go walking together? Even if it

can only be fit in once a week....hopefully, more. Do you like walking

to music...I find it makes me feel less alone and gives me a good beat

to " zone out " to.

I've heard of many people who have experienced PCOS. It is through

Gastric Bypass that I learned of women who suffer from this. I've

heard success stories of people no longer having PCOS after surgery

and weight loss.

OK, confession time: On Labor Day, I spent the day with my good

friends, Ben and Jerry. I lounged on the couch and for some reason

decided to have a pity party for myself. I'm still racking my brain

trying to figure out the motives behind my behavior. This is quite

perplexing, as I am SO HAPPY right now. Happier than I have EVER been

in my life. However, obviously, there is something going on that

caused me to fall off the wagon on Monday. After reading your cake

batter story, I felt the need to come clean with you and the group as

well. We all make mistakes and we all have the ability to learn from

them.

Best of luck Jess and I hope you are feeling better than when you

posted,

My husband and I are both going through the BTC. Our first consult will be

the 17th of next month - outside Columbus.

  • 1 year later...

Hi all,

I have been around, but haven't had time to post. From March to the

end of June, my weight dropped off like crazy. In July, it was a bit

slower, but I still took off weight. I had 44 lbs off when I left for

camp on Aug 8 and was wearing size 2X top and pants.

I went to camp, brought my own SBD foods, ate them for every meal

other than the two planned " cheats " I had allowed myself--Mexican

dinner night and soft pretzel snack night. I sat in the 100 degree

heat all afternoon as the craft director. I drank lots of water and

Crystal Light.

I came back to find that I had gained 6 pounds! I have no idea how.

The next week, we did day trips and it was harder to eat right, so a

few times I had to eat things not on SBD, such as having a slice of

pizza one night. At the end of the week, I had stayed the same.

The next week, I did SBD phase 2 and lost 6 pounds. Last week, I

stayed the same.

I'm back on phase 1 this week, since I never did that since I got

back. I weigh the same now as I did when I left for camp--44 lbs off.

But, I am down to a 1X in pants and an XL in tops, even tho my weight

loss is the same.
