Guest guest
HI, everyone! I haven't been feeling very good I am now having problems with my heart. I think I told everyone that my sister was going to give me one of her kideny's well last week they called her after she did her 2 24 hour collection and she spilled way to much protein. She contacted her doctor and went into for some test now she has an appointment with my kideny doctor, her primary docotr thinks she might have the same thing as me..IGA Nephropathy. I am having a very hard time with this, I have has this disease for fifteen years, sience i was 11. I have gone through alot and because of this stupid disease I was told that I wouldn't be able to have kids, but had my daughter anyways and it was a very difficult pregnancy and spent the six months in the hospital, ended up having her early, now I am on dialysis and am having all kinds of problems. So not only am I not going to get a kidney from my sister, she may end up have the same illness as me, I am having a hard time thinking that everything that I have gone through I may have to see my little sister go through the same things. She feels bad that she can't give me her kidney, I am more upset that she may be in the same boat as me someday. If it comes out that she has the same thing, I am going to have my daughter checked. So, here is the deal with my transplant, I had four people get tested, they excluded my parents and now my sister and my best friend is a match but is very over weight. Now the transplant place isn't putting me on the transplant list, they are not testing anyone and they are not moving foward on my best friend, they did the blood match and that is as far as they will go until she loses the weight. I can't get no where with them and is starting to look like I wil be on dialysis for a long time. __________________________________________________
Guest guest
, I am sorry to hear about everything you are going through. I am 34. My sister is 21 and she probably has IGA. we are 1'2 sisters-we have the same mother. she doesn't have any siblings that would match her blood type. She has normal creat now. Has blood and protein in urine. she hasn't had a biopsy yet. The only thing I am hoping is that hopefully knowing she has it will help. she doesn't eat meat now and takes fish oil. I am sorry to hear about your friend needing to lose weight. If you don't think she will lose the weight than maybe they should put you back on the waiting list. Maybe your nephrologist could help you with this. Also I think if ant one else wanted to be tested for tissue type match-I would think they would have to do that-but I really don't know. I know things look bad now but hang in there.Keep venting here-it really does help. christine > HI, everyone! I haven't been feeling very good I am > now having problems with my heart.
