Guest guest
I've been on the Living with ALS group since it began. The same thing happened there that seems to be happening here. The solution was the moderator. on that list has done an extraordinary job in keeping things in check. When this began there, a different group was started called a place to vent but don't know how it is doing. We all have bad days and different feeling just like different stages of this disease. When a subject arrives that creates this upheaval, those that don't agree or need to vent it should probably do it personally to the senders email address. That way we all don't have to delete or audit our mail boxes. I myself choice not to let the feelings, views or ideas of others interfere with my own personal support I receive from this list. Guest guest
Alot of groups have what is called a moderator. they read every message before it is posted and decide what should be posted or not. In our group living-with-alsyahoogroups (DOT) ... E-mail Address(es): living-with-als we have a moderator. She reads everything first. If it doesn't pertain to ALS then it doesn't get posted. She does not allow any bickering either. We don't get our messages right away like on this group, but it does keep alot calmer group. I know she doesn't let through the things that have been discussed here like the war, politics, religion... I mean ,,you can say you believe in God and all, but a post only to discuss religion wouldn't go through. We can do attachments, pictures, animations, stationery...and that ..Can't do it on this list though. Stroupe friend: if you are reading your post in digest form or at the site..you can't delete them. If you are getting individual emails , you delete them just like any other email. Guest guest
I am an infrequent contributor, yet an avid and eager reader of all of the postings on this site. It has been, and continues to be, a source of invaluable information which I use as a guide for my life and actions. I do not, however, want to be bombarded with religious or political messages of any type. I do want to read of the experiences, good or bad, that we refer to as venting. There is an insight that you cannot find in any other way in these postings that I find sometimes comforting and sometimes disturbing, but always helpful. The venting that goes on here is always constructive for me, giving me a look into my own future. Please, please don't stop the venting and experiential postings. But, please do not attempt to excite or rally me to some religious or political issue as those areas to me are my own and private only to me. I too, pray when someone needs it, and weep at other losses. I am fortunate to be in the early stages, and consider myself lucky and fortunate to receive the information and guidance here. I love each and every person in this group, and will come to anyone's assistance in any way that I can. Love, information and understanding please. Religion and politics, no thank you.
