,

Thanks so much for the info on Dr. Kennedy & Dr. Gross. I received a

message from someone who has received resurfacing from Dr. Kennedy and he

sounds very good. I have an appointment scheduled with my orth doctor in 2

weeks and we are going to discuss my options (core decompression, THR,

resurfacing, etc.). I really feel like my life is in the hands of my

insurance company because there is no way I can afford to pay some $60,000

out of pocket for a surgery they won't cover. From what I hear, insurance

companies are not covering resurfacing. I think this is a shame because it

sounds like it would be much better for me because I'm in stage 1 of AVN in

both hips and caught this early. I'm kind of depressed about this entire

situation to be honest with you, but oh well. I'm going to try to gather as

much information on all my options and just pray something good comes from

all this.

Thanks again,

Craig

Best guess is that the resurfacing appliance may receive FDA approval

next year. That will make insurance coverage more widespread and fill up the

schedules of OS's trained in the procedure. If you can hold out till then...
