Guest guest
You both are sweethearts and very right! It is better to give than receive. Happy Holidays!!! Christmas Giving > To all, > > I know how most of you all talk about the things you did before we got this disease such as helping others. Well today I had a wonderful day I gave gifts to the battered women shelter. I was told that they loved it. I also gave food to the animal shelter. I will at least save some of the animals during December and January. I only wish that we had a no kill shelter. If I ever win the lottery we will have one. I was in the pet store and they had two great boy cats just cats. One was named and Andy they are the best of friends. I hope they get to be together if some one will take them. My heart goes out to animals of all kinds. I hate to see them in cages but it is better than being on there on. Any way I have not been to well lately and have been thinking of only me so > this really helped me. If all of us do something to help others then think how much better we would all feel about our selves. I remember before I got sick there was this young boy hitchhiking and he was so dirty and looked so tired. He went into a quick pick store and ate candy and chips on the outside of store. It was going to start to rain and he looked like he could not go on. So I told him to go to this motel and I would pay for it > so he could have a bath and good night sleep. He really did thank me. I told the man at the desk not to give back the money if he asked for it and he did not ask for it. All of you have a MERRY CHRISTMAS and We love all of you. > > Jane Anne & King > >

Guest guest
Hi & Jane Annie, The gift of giving is so special. It takes the focus off of us and puts it where it always belonged, on others. Giving can be done in so many ways, like visiting/calling a sick friend/family. Writing to prisoners or others in need. Feeding the hungry. Clothing the needy. Visiting the elderly/homebound. Most of all praying for and with all aforementioned. You've done a great thing. I read somewhere where it said, " If you've done it for one of these, you've done it for me. " Take care. God Bless Yolanda Christmas Giving To all, I know how most of you all talk about the things you did before we got this disease such as helping others. Guest guest
Jane Anne, Your mail made me think. I have pasted a portion of " Gitanjali " - poetry written by Rabindranath Tagore in Bengali language. (Translation is by an English poet. Tagore was awarded Nobel Prize for literature some 90 years back. Take care. Jagan -------------------------------------------- I had gone a-begging from door to door in the village path, when thy golden chariot appeared in the distance like a gorgeous dream and I wondered who was this King of all kings! My hopes rose high and methought my evil days were at an end, and I stood waiting for alms to be given unasked and for wealth scattered on all sides in the dust. The chariot stopped where I stood. Thy glance fell on me and thou camest down with a smile. I felt that the luck of my life had come at last. Then of a sudden thou didst hold out thy right hand and say " What hast thou to give to me? " Ah, what a kingly jest was it to open thy palm to a beggar to beg! I was confused and stood undecided, and then from my wallet I slowly took out the least little grain of corn and gave it to thee. But how great my surprise when at the day's end I emptied my bag on the floor to find a least little gram of gold among the poor heap. I bitterly wept and wished that I had had the heart to give thee my all.
Guest guest
Dear & Jane Anne, I say ditto to what Yolanda wrote. And for all others who so self-lessly give to the needy, whether they be two legged or four legged: You've done a great thing. I read somewhere where it said, " If you've done it for one of these, you've done it for me. " Take care. God Bless & Happy HOlidays Laurel
Guest guest
Dear Jagan, Have you heard the story " Gift of the Maji " ? It is a wonderful story for Christmas, and has been one of my favorites since I was a child. Thanks for sending the poem. It was also wonderful. Blessings, Laurel Re: Christmas Giving Jane Anne, Your mail made me think. I have pasted a portion of " Gitanjali " - poetry written by Rabindranath Tagore in Bengali language. I've copied it to save. how have your headaches and neck pain been for you? I've thought of you often when I have the pain....and when I don't! {bg} I've not had the pain since I started sleeping in a recliner chair. then a few weeks ago my husband brought home a hospital bed that he got here at our Goodwill Store. I ordered a mattress and was really excited about sleeping in a bed again.......well, i slept in it for 5 days and slowly the neck pain and headaches returned until today the pain was nearly intolerable.....so, tonight I go back to my recliner. But, maybe I can use the bed now and then for naps or an occasional nights sleep....as much as I love sleeping in the recliner and feeling less pain, I miss sleeping in a bed....like " normal " people. best wishes to you Jagan. maggie
