Dear Jane Ann & :

What kind hearts you have and you brought tears to my eyes. My sentiments

are the same and you really made me think about my life and others. Thank

you so much for sharing with us and my best to you both for the upcoming

holiday season. May it bring you better health and a cure for us all.

Take care.

Hi & Jane Annie,

The gift of giving is so special. It takes the focus off of us and puts it

where it always belonged, on others. Giving can be done in so many ways, like

visiting/calling a sick friend/family. Writing to prisoners or others in need.

Feeding the hungry. Clothing the needy. Visiting the elderly/homebound. Most

of all praying for and with all aforementioned. You've done a great thing. I

read somewhere where it said, " If you've done it for one of these, you've done

it for me. " Take care.

God Bless

Yolanda

Jane Anne,

Your mail made me think.

I have pasted a portion of " Gitanjali " - poetry written by Rabindranath Tagore

in Bengali language. (Translation is by an English poet. Tagore was awarded

Nobel Prize for literature some 90 years back.

Take care.

Jagan

--------------------------------------------

I had gone a-begging from door to door in the village path, when thy golden

chariot appeared in the distance like a gorgeous dream and I wondered who was

this King of all kings!

My hopes rose high and methought my evil days were at an end, and I stood

waiting for alms to be given unasked and for wealth scattered on all sides in

the dust.

The chariot stopped where I stood. Thy glance fell on me and thou camest down

with a smile. I felt that the luck of my life had come at last. Then of a sudden

thou didst hold out thy right hand and say " What hast thou to give to me? "

Ah, what a kingly jest was it to open thy palm to a beggar to beg! I was

confused and stood undecided, and then from my wallet I slowly took out the

least little grain of corn and gave it to thee.

But how great my surprise when at the day's end I emptied my bag on the floor to

find a least little gram of gold among the poor heap. I bitterly wept and wished

that I had had the heart to give thee my all.

Dear & Jane Anne,

I say ditto to what Yolanda wrote. And for all others who so

self-lessly give to the needy, whether they be two legged or four legged:

You've done a great thing. I read somewhere where it said, " If you've done

it for one of these, you've done it for me. " Take care.

God Bless

& Happy HOlidays

Dear Jagan,

Have you heard the story " Gift of the Maji " ? It is a wonderful story for

Christmas, and has been one of my favorites since I was a child. Thanks for

sending the poem. It was also wonderful.

Blessings,

Laurel

Hello Jagan!!!!

it seems like a long time since we've written to each other.

thank you for this wonderful poem. I've copied it to save.

how have your headaches and neck pain been for you? I've thought of

you often when I have the pain....and when I don't! {bg}

I've not had the pain since I started sleeping in a recliner chair.

then a few weeks ago my husband brought home a hospital bed that he

got here at our Goodwill Store. I ordered a mattress and was really

excited about sleeping in a bed again.......well, i slept in it for

5 days and slowly the neck pain and headaches returned until today

the pain was nearly intolerable.....so, tonight I go back to my

recliner. But, maybe I can use the bed now and then for naps or an

occasional nights sleep....as much as I love sleeping in the

recliner and feeling less pain, I miss sleeping in a

bed....like " normal " people.

best wishes to you Jagan.
