Guest guest
, this is the place to vent so go right on ahead. If you want to shout use capital letters!!! Nobody know how this PLS effects us better then we do. I am fortunate to have Doug I wouldn't know if I ever would have made it this far with this YUCKY PLS without him. I would think your lawyer could at least get your employer to restate your insurance because I don't believe an employer can let you go due to your disability. If you aren't able to do your current position they can find you something else within the company. Anyway that is how it worked with all the companies I or Doug have worked at. They were mostly large companies I don't know if that applies to smaller companies. Hope your lawyer works it out for you............Flora
Guest guest
, I don't know how bad off you are from PLS but has your doctor talked to you about going on disability? I know you may not want to but you have to think about what is best for your family. Did your work have disability insurance? I know I fought going on disability and my doctor was trying to get me to go on it and said that line to me... Of course I realize now that in a month or two I would have had to admit to myself that I couldn't do my job anyway and he was right. dale Re: needs GOD > thanks very much for your prayers. the post a few days > ago about choosing to retire has really affected me. i
Guest guest
Hello , I am sorry to hear about your problems with your job I to know just what you feel. My husband has had PLS for 7 years now. He is still working a full time job from home on his computer. He contiues to work due to the fact that we have a 16 year old child still home with us also we have a very large home that we had built to meet his needs. If he was to stop working then he knows we would have to move as we could no longer aford the house payment on such a large home. Also he has a great need just as I see in you to take care of his family no matter what the cost to him and his health is. He has what I feel is a very fast moving PLS. He has only been ill for 7 years now and is full time in a power wheel chiar his speech is gone legs gone arms all but gone has to do straight cath. every hour or two has lots of bowel problems chocks on almost everything he puts in his mouth. But still he continues to work. But he also was very lucky in that he works for a very good company and had given 30 years of his life already to this company before his illness. But they have been wonderful as a matter of fact they have went above and beyond the call of duty so to speak. So as you see each situation is so very differant you only you can decide what must be right for you and your family. I hope this did not sound to much like a lecture as that was not my intent at all. I was just hoping to give you some insight. Sorry for the long note. But I do get carried away sometimes. Don't often write but when I do sometimes get long winded. But somethings just hit close to home. I felt I needed to blow a few horns for my husband of 27 years I guess. Will everyone thanks for the ears those that made it this far. Good luck and I will put you and your family in my prays. Guest guest
Shirley, It has been a long time since we have talked. When I come back up to Dr. Finks I will let you know and maybe we can see each other again. Sounds like your husband is a little better. Hope that is the case. Would be very nice to just have some time to sit and talk. is doing OK Dr. Fink has given him Tylenol with codeine for the pain and that does help some but not completely so we just do what we can to keep him comfy.
