Guest guest
, Great write-up. Us pre-ops appreciate the time you took. We are SO glad to hear of your good recovery. Hope Bridget gets over her bad turn. Keep up the good work. Diane, Please read up on the procedures on that website. Both procedures can have gas and stools that smell. This is due 1) becuase of the malabortion which is desirable and 2) what you put into your stomach. Usually if you put too much fat in (so it is controlable by you). Some people have dairy food intolerance that is also controlable by lactic medications. The thing is that with the pyloric valve in place, there is no " dumping " with DS. The valve keeps the food in the stomach until the digestive process it performs is finished. The RNY removes the pyloris so that the food can slide right from the stomach into the intestine without due processing and the " dumping " causes bizarre body chemistry shifts for a little while. Both can cause weight loss. DS has the best record for KEEPING it off, according to my research. It's your call, that's why you need to read everything and make your own decision. Hope things go well for you. Robin K
