Guest guest
Hi all, I just got back from a trip to northern Calif. visiting relatives and going skiing when I realized that I had kept a promise to myself from last April. We took the kids to Arizona to try to ski and it didn't work out, BUT I vowed to myself that I'd be in shape when we tried near the end of this year. Now it's that time and I kept that promise!!!!!!!!!! In April I was WAY over goal and nothing fit of course to ski in and I was gritting my teeth and bracing to be cold, but the resort closed early and I dodged that bullet. So, I told myself I'd be ready this December and I was--my bigger ski pants fit with pants underneath and the smaller ones fit my 13 year old. I had bought a size 8 jacket at a thrift shop and everything clicked--even though I'm not at goal still, I was in shape and had fun. It was COLD to say the least but fun. Sometimes we have to measure our successes away from the scale and realize that they are more important than the movements on the scale. What is more important than keeping a promise to yourself?? Or to your family and kids?? When I thought about that, it blew me away. Here's to all of our success and promises kept in 2004!!!!!!!!!
