Guest guest
Hi Careen, Well, I already was in your position, trying to reduce the fibroid with homeopathy, many drops and stuff, Yoga excersises, meditation, praying and anything you can imagine, BUT the reality is that it is the same size (AT LEAST), and the symthoms are the same, not worse, not better, as usual..hopefully I have never had many bad sympthoms, only a heavy second period day and big bumping in my stomach two or three days before my period. I dont remember which is exactly your age, but in my case I am 36, not so many years to have a baby, and taking into account that pregnancy takes 9 months ...almost a year..so I try that fibroid at least dont grow anymore, and in the meantime I try to conceive. Yes, is true what you say that fibroids does not match with pregnancy, BUT my gyn..luckly as she is a woman, has always tell me..try to conceive Marleen, because if I open you I can not guarantee you that I will safe you uterus...YES now that I discovered this group I know that she says that as she is not an expert in myos, but I live in Montreal, Canada, and here so far, there are not so many doctor specialized in doing sucessfully myos. Most of the woman here in this board lives in USA, and it is not evident for a canadian financial point of view going down there and doing the surgury. That is why I give myself a deadline of trying to conceive first and see. BUT MY problem is that since august I am trying and nothing..not sucess,..so I have also heard the fibroid affects fertility, mainly when they change considerably the internal shape of the uterus,..my case..a big intramural one. Nevertheless, I keep trying who knows..and pray a lot..to god..in order to help me. I could tell you that as far as I have read, yes fibroids grow along with the baby, BUT IT IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE. My gyn told me that the first three months at the worst as there is a competition that is established between the fibroid and the fetus..both of them wanting the blood supply and one of them dies..ALWAYS..according to my gyn..is the baby who wins..and as a result the fibroid start degenerate (shrink) it makes involuntary contrations to the uterus and it can cause the prematury delivery, so if very soon the fetus dies. But, if you can reach the 5th or the 6th months, is complete possible. She also told me I will have to do a lot of rest, stop working and so on BUT i think it worth it. There are many women Careen, that go to the doctor and in the first eco of their pregnancy they just realized they have a fibroid..BUT YES it is possible that a woman could have a baby with a fibroid..it is just a matter of having some chance and good luck I think.. The main risk of a fibroid with a pregnancy is that there are a 25% of pregnancy that are lost before the delivery and some times not sucessfully so, this could be some kind of fustrating and with other psicological effects for the person, BUT i am giving a try. I have also read that fibroids are caused as a result of too many estrogens, so an hormonal disbalance..this is how I am starting to think I have perhaps a tiroid problems..as I am charting my ovulation and my temperatures but I do not reach a promedium temperature, not on the days of ovulation,..I know I have ovulation, but in other days of the cycle..so I am going to check that point to see...Anyway..I could explain you some other things and give you my comments,..if you want just let me know..Thanks god we have this opportunity to exchange our experiences.. I beg you to pardon my english, as my native language is the spanish,..but if I can help you again..just write me.. Many thanks for your feed back Marleen _________________________________________________________
