Thats what I'm doing as of yesterday. I took a look into schwans, while it

is more expensive to buy meat this way, I think it will be cheaper in the

long run. In the past I would cook a whole round steak and plan for it to be

for 2 or 3 or 4 meals. HA...I was lucky to get 2 out of it 50% of the time!

:-) Schwans has this box of meat called introductry sampler, its pork,

chicken, steak and hamburger. I figure I will get 8 portion controled meals

out of this. The meat is indivually packaged, so no leftovers for me to eat.

So most days when I choose to eat meat at a meal I will get 6 (no more then

8) oz of meat (depending on what kind of meat im eating) in any one meal.

Might still sound like a lot to some people, but cuts me way down from my

usual 14 or 16 oz. This will not work on Sundays when we go to the Outback

though! Hopefully soon I will start getting used to the smaller portions and

just cut my steak in half at the Outback and have the rest for lunch the next

day. We will see.

Great post ! Via la tasty foods :-)

ridiculous to me. It seems like most diets (especially those low carb ones) are

always demonizing things like the [deliciously tasty] banana and [super sweet]

grapes. I just can't believe that eating a whole large banana or a whole bag of

grapes could possibly hurt my health regardless of the calories or carbs or

whatever nutrient the diet is demonizing at the time. Why would you discourage

someone from eating the whole bag of baby carrots or a handful of clementines?

For me it always seemed that if I carefully restricted foods that made me feel

good, later in the day I would always end up ravenously hungry in a location

that had nothing but a vending machine full of chips I didn't want but I would

end up buying and eating the chips because they were the only option.

I agree! I'm often shocked when people will only buy a " small " banana or stay away from Avocados--all healthy foods straight from the earth! I can't believe that I also used to think that way, but it helps to remind me how much progress I really have made with IE and to really appreciate this journey. How amazing to be so freed from these rules and be appreciating and savoring ALL foods!
