Hi Lu,

I ran across that the other day when one of the ladies ask me for

some emails that I had that she wanted to read. I sent her a reply

and it came back, I posted about it, and she sent me the correct

email address. I am guess this way they can't be contacted except in

the groups through posts. I could be wrong, just my thoughts. Anyone

want to help out here??

I did not mean to cause a commotion or anything by having my

address not listed. I do not own a computer and have to use the one

at the library or next door until I can see if I want to buy one. I

have myself listed that way because my neighbor's computer would be

overloaded with my mail. Anyway that is the way she explained it to

me. I do not know any of the other people you have listed. Surely

there are others who do not have their stuff listed.

I came here looking for support and thought I had found it here. If

I need to leave, just say so and I will see if I can find another

group. Joy

Joy,

No we don't want you to leave. Just confused as to how you can do it and why a person does it. I was not upset, just curious. I didn't know you could do this but it makes sense now that you say you are using your neighbors computre or at the library. You an also change the setting for the group to no mail and read the posts at the group. If you ever need help doing this let me know and I can change it for you.

Hi Flaussy,

I think some of the ladies are a little nervous. Not too long before you joined the group we had someone here pretending to be here to support his girlfriend and he was not who he claimed to be.

This happens from time to time and they prey on our emotions until we are able to catch them. It takes awhile to get back to normal. We are here for you and your sister. Hugs

Hi Flaussy,

Thank you for understanding. Its one of the most cruel things a person can do to another patient/survivor. We have a lady in here that is NOT a "stalker" and has been accused unjustly by some in another group. However the trouble makers have been deleted from this group as I will not tolerate it.

Anyway, back to your question. I thought a sonogram was just used during pregnancy. Are you sure she didn't mean an ultrasound, CT scan or MRI? I have heard of drs requesting an ultrasound if anything is suspicious in the mammogram. Sometimes they things can be cleared up with a second mammo and sometimes not. I will continue to keep your sister in my prayers.

A sonogram and ultrasound are the same things. I think normally a sonogram is given after a mammogram if they feel it is necessary. I've never heard of just having a sonogram instead of a mammogram. Some tumors just aren't picked up with a mammogram. I think sometimes they use sonograms with younger women or women with dense breast tissue. Hi Flaussy,

By sonogram do you mean ultrasound?

That and MRIs are being used with mammograms to detect breast cancer.

Each one has its pros/cons. e.g., MRIs can detect things that

mammograms can't, but sometimes gives false positives. I think the

standard is for doctors to start with mammograms and then do more tests

if they see something suspicious. For some women (e.g., with dense

breast tissue) ultrasounds may work better than mammograms at detecting

lumps.

This web site explains the different screening tests for breast cancer.

Hi CherylAnne,

I was 44 when I was diagnosed. We talked about reconstruction and decided against it. My husband said he loved me for me and not my breasts. If you click the link below and go about 1/2 down you will see The Woman You Love. My husband wrote it after my surgery. It has been in a few magazines and read at Cancer Survivors Day. It gives a mans view on breast cancer.
