Guest guest
Hi everyone... I was wondering if anyone knows if it is ok to just discontinue Lupron injections? I have had 5 shots and am still bleeding so I was thinking maybe I should just discontinue the shots and not proceed with the 6th shot since I am not getting the relief that most women get with the use of Lupron. I plan on talking to my gyn tomorrow but just wanted to get your most valued opinions first. The other gyn I saw recently for a second opinion just wanted to give me more hormones and to continue the Lupron injections for up to two full years!!!!! Obviously, I have no intention on seeing this guy again. He told me to just have a baby; afterall, a baby fixes everything. That is what the guy told me!! no kidding!! I was sooo shocked and offended by his statements, I could have killed him right then and there! He was dangerously close to being attacked by a drug-induced menopausal, totally infuriated 33 year old. JUST HAVE A BABY!!! Now, I am not against the idea of children but I am most certainly against the idea of using this as a way to solve a problem....which isn't guaranteed either. A baby is something you should decide upon and want because you want to cherish and nurture another human being! It is not and should not be chosen just to fix a problem!! Anyhow, my damn problem with conceiving is due to the stupid, idiotic fibroids in the first damn place, right???? UGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Sorry ladies....I am so crazed about these incessant people who so casually mention these ridiculous things....stay on Lupron for two years!!! UGGGGHHH.....give me MORE hormones!!!! UGH, UGH and Triple UGH!! Is there no end????? Anyhow, back to the original question....has anyone discontinued Lupron early and if so, was there any problems with discontinuing it? I appreciate you all so very much...thanks for listening and letting me vent...I swear I was only going to ask the one question and not even bring up the other stuff but I guess I needed to talk about it...thanks a million!! Guest guest
Rainean I was told that one could only take six injections of Lupron ever. I had three and elected to stop after three with no ill effects. Is there a reason why the Lupron didn't work for you? I thought for sure it kicked one into menopause. Where are your fibroids? What type are they? I agree with you that your doc is a twat. A child is more than just a thing used to fix one's fibroids with! Sigh. Go with your instincts, take your iron and explore until you hit on the right thing for you. Then gather all your support! Good luck and thoughts. gigi. Guest guest
Did this moronic doctor tell you how becoming pregnant (if you were able to) would help your fibroid situation? I have read that pregnancy makes fibroids GROW! And was Lupron supposed to be a cure? Generally doctors only use it prior to surgery to shrink the fibroids. After the Lupron is discontinued the fibroids grow back rapidly to their previous size. And many doctors feel that it actually makes the fibroids harder to remove since it tends to make them " mushy " and harder to differentiate from normal tissue, not to mention the fact that some small fibroids shrink so much that they cannot be found during surgery, only to grow back later on. > Hi everyone... > I was wondering if anyone knows if it is ok to just discontinue Lupron injections?
