Guest guest
We had our 12 week appt. Thursday and everything is progressing well. Yay! Had my first external ultrasound and continue to be amazed at the difference a month can make in these little beings. Though the external u/s in my OB's office is older than the baginal one and the picture is muddier, the baby is certainly much bigger. While the doc was trying to point out the spine, head, heart, etc., the little thing kept popping up <BOING!> like a jumping bean. Really bouncing around. That was pretty cool to see. It's kind of odd, though, to know that kind of activity (which seems SO pronounced on the monitor) is going on inside of me and I can't even feel it. Hubby's parents were starting to make travel plans for the summer and fall, and it looked like they weren't going to be in the area near my due date, so we went ahead and told them. We were going to wait until we see them in a couple of weeks but thought that might be too late. So now we're starting to tell immediate family. It's strange how much of a bif step this feels like! We've been waiting and waiting to tell people, but now that we're starting to, it feels like it's some kind of a commitment! How odd is that? I'm happy to report that both exhaustion and nausea are much better this week (FINALLY!), though neither is fully gone. I got hungry Saturday (briefly) for the first time in 3 months, but it hasn't happened since. Still, hope for the future! All the info on breastfeeding has been great. Even though I have a long way to go, it's good to think about these things ahead of time. Thanks, guys! --Darla
