Guest guest
Dear karen, I am still figuring out how to post and just accidentally deleted the message I just wrote you. I have had 3 EMG's that were negative. So don't despair if yours is. I did not exersize before them, but would have if i had known . The neurologist who monitored the last EMG specialized in muscular dystrophy and myasthenia gravis. After the test, which took less than 2 hours but was booked into a 2 hour time slot, he said I could have an enzyme deficiency which would not show up on the EMG's and that he believed blood tests would be available in 3 to 4 years. That test was a year and a half ago. I don't know whether he was just trying to get rid of me. or console me. I was very annoyed by the end of the test. I was sensitive on the lower half of my body and not the upper half. maybe I was just used to the needles by then, but I really felt more pain with the lower half. It takes time for them to position the needles. the 2 muscle biopsies I also had were inconclusive. I believe one day the tests will be less invasive. Good luck tomorrow, thelma
