Guest guest
Hi Aruna, Lipitor is a great protective drug that can really reduce the chances of heart attack and stroke, and can be extremely effective getting the cholesterol down. Many of us with IgAN also have high lipids (cholesterol) in our blood. I take Zocor which is similar and that is one I am happy to take because it will reduce my chances of cardiovascular complications to chronic kidney disease. There is no connection between IgAN and diabetes. You may need to really keep a close eye on his sugar levels. The great news is that his creatinine is stable and his protein has showed such a big decline. Overall, I would say that his results are cause for celebration. I know it is stressful to watch your loved one go through a chronic illness, but try to look at the positives as far as the stability he has and hopefully that will help you feel better. Also, as always, remember you are not alone. You have all of us here to support you both too! Guest guest
Hi Aruna, Please don't ever say or think your emotions are stupid. Dealing with a chronic illness in your family IS scary and it IS stressful, and with that comes a wide range of emotions. Feeling depressed, scared or discouraged at times is perfectly OK and completely normal. It does help to think about our blessings and the things we have to be thankful for, BUT that does not mean we don't all have the down times too. I heard a saying a long time ago that always stuck with me that says " feelings aren't right or wrong, they just are " meaning you cannot attach a label of feelings being correct or not. You feel what you feel and it is just as important to express the feelings when you are down or discouraged as it is to express when you are feeling happy and hopeful. Please always feel free to vent on any part of the spectrum of feelings you are going through. This board is a safe place to write and say anything you need to. On your question about the Renal Care team, my next one is October 18th, so a few weeks away. Thank you so much for your prayers!
