Guest guest
, Welcome to this group! I understand that overwhelmed feeling you have, but I hope you'll trust me and the others on this group who will say that this WW eating program is doable! You can do it -- WE're doing it!!! It will take a little getting used to, but once you do you'll be surprised at how wonderful this plan is. I'm 59.3 pounds lighter now, with another 50 to go, and I have not suffered for one single minutes on this plan! We'll be here for you when you have questions or need a hug -- and even when you need a little kick in the pants to get you going again! Guest guest
LOL! Okay, , I'll get in a quick kick in your direction right now!! (KICK!) By the way, the others on this list who suggested that you break down your weight-loss need are totally right-on! I had over 100 to lose to begin with, and that was just way too overwhelming for me to look ahead toward. So I focused on that first 10 pounds. Actually, at first, the first 5, and then the 10-lb. mark. When I passed 10, I felt encouraged and then set my eye toward that next 10 (what I call a " decade " ). Now I enjoy each success where I move under a 10-pound mark (like 270, then 260, then 250, etc.). Those landmarks seem SO significant to me. I celebrate each one I pass! We'll be here for you! Guest guest
, Take it 5 pounds at a time. Do not let the number get you down. I broke my total I wanted to lose down in 5% increments, so it gives me a new goal to shoot for every few pounds. You could even do it in 3% increments if you want. That was a big help to me. Currently I am 50% to goal ) which sounds a lot better than only 40-ish pounds to go! Jenn Subject: introduction Hi I am new to the list, my name is . I am starting WW again tomorrowin my local area after one month off as I just was not even trying before and had gained about 15 pounds.. I weigh about 330 lbs. and am so overwhelmed by it. I really want this year to be a year of change for my health and weight. I have health problems due to the weight and feel old...I am 37. I would so appreciate hearing tips so I can succeed with this. I received the flex points calculator as a gift and also am subscribed to etools, so I am all set to go ...just feel so overwhelmed by my weight and how hindered I am physically because of it. Thanks

That is overwhelming. Break it down into very managable amounts. That is why WW now has a goal of 10% as your first milestone. I lose very slowly and I used to look at the whole picture which makes you feel like you will never get there. Many times thinking that it will take you a year can be daunting but if you think I can do this just for today and then recommit yourself again tomorrow the weight will come off. Set your goal by a weight, dress size or inches lost. Then when your reach that goal, set new ones. Remember baby steps. Barbara

Guest guest
Hi, . Welcome to the group. I can understand your feeling overwhelmed with the big picture. I started with 281 pounds to lose. That's a big number! As others have mentioned, breaking it down into smaller chunks helps a lot. I like 5 pound increments. For a longer goal I have 15 weeks on my Season Pass. My goal is to lose 30 pounds in that time frame. You can make 2004 your year to shine. Dedicate yourself to eating your points, drink water, exercise and you'll be on your way. --- Debra Down 31.4 pounds
