Guest guest
Someone in the past few days in Egroups listed the comments by Dr. Anthone,MD on webmd.com with a referral URL (Full URL is: http://my.webmd.com/content/article/1700.50725) entitled " Surgery for Morbid Obesity with Anthone. On what is page 6 on my printout, there is the Question by laborc_lycos: Is there an age limit? His answer states that 12,13, 14 can be done depending on things. This is desirable because " ...once they become socially crippled and in general that means once they become isolated because of their obesity by dropping out of school or not interacting with peers or withdrawing, then they become a candidate no matter what age. " The entire article is 7 pages singlespaced. This does NOT mean that any doctor feels the same way. It DOES indicate that some doctors feel that adolescence is not a barrier to DS just because of age. You may have to search for one, if you chose that path. That Ricki Lake show was a nauseating display of abusive sensationalism accomplishing only a lot of opinions and no help. IMHO Robin K.
